If you don't have anything attatched to the unit and it display's "overload" Your unit needs to be serviced. Output transistors are shorted. Get an estimate and weigh the cost of repair vs. replacement. Hope this helps

I have a Haier mini fridge that is not working. I have taken the P6R8MC relay off but don't hear any rattle. Does that mean the compressor is probably bad?

That is what is sounds like but let's check. An overload relay will fail due to wear, a short or a bad compressor will knock it out. There is a rare occasion you may purchased a bad overload relay, but that is rare. The rattling of the overload relay is a good indicator it is bad, however it does not have to rattle to be bad - inspect for burn marks as well.
The clicking sound is the overload relay trying to start the compressor. There will be a pause and then click trying to start the compressor again.
Remove the overload relay component and expose the three pins on the compressor. Using a multi- meter, measure the Ohms across the three pins. You will get one high Ohm reading and two lower Ohm readings. If the two lower readings add up to the higher reading the compressor is good. Make sure the green ground wire is securely grounded. It could nock out the overload. Check for loose connections. Replacing a compressor is a major repair. The cost will exceed the purchase price. Rule of thumb; "If the cost of the repair is 1/3 or more of the purchase price of the unit, Buy new".
As a retired Sears service technician, we considered these units
as throw-a-ways due to the high cost of repair. If you had a service contract we would replace the unit rather than repair it

Receiver

If the display shows overload, you are playing it too loud, or have too many speakers connected. Overload is a protection method used to shut down the unit, before it's damaged.

Display shows overload and receiver shuts down

This means that one (or maybe more) of the amplifiers is shorted. Remove all speakers cables and try again. If you get the same message that means that one (or more) amplifiers is fried. To find which and why you will have to open the unit and test the amplifiers.

Compressor hums for 20 seconds then goes off for five minutes then trys again

Either your starting windings on your compressor are bad or the run capacitor is bad. This prevents the unit from developing enough torque to turn and it draws a lot of amps causing the overload to trip. the unit retrys when the overload cools off and resets. A service person can test the windings to see if it is the compressor and if given your units information can come over with a new capacitor just in case it is the culprit. If you are handy and have a multi-meter I may be able to help you determine which component has failed. Good-Luck - Subdriver

My true freezer model T-35F 3/4 HP start run

overamp condition. Sounds like the first place to look would be in the start components.
http://www.truemfg.com/pdf/InstallManuals/T-SERIES/t_series_english.pdf
check out this web site. It has your manual with trouble shooting guide. It also says to check start components. Don't get circuit breaker confused with unit overload. Overload is on the compressor.
Hope this gets ya going.

SXG490 displays

if overload warning displays only when you activate speakers "a",,, please check your wiring and speakers
for that channel, first remove both A speakers turn it on, if its okey plug one speaker and try again if okey remove it and try the other one, when you see which one is it check the wire and the speaker ( every time you hook the speaker turn it off before that) overload means something is shorting and that protects the unit to prevent furter damage

Receiver Overload error message

Disconnect all speaker wires at the receiver, then turn it on and up. If it stays on, check your speaker wires one by one, then check your speakers one by one. If it still cuts out with nothing attatched, it needs serviced or replaced.

RCA RS2531 display says Overload and won't function

Start by disconnecting the speakers, turn the volume to minimum, and see if the unit still shuts down. You might have a shorted speaker or wire. If the trouble continues, either the amplifier integrated circuit has gone bad, or some other component failure is activating the shutdown. I can't suggest any specific parts you might check because many things can cause the same symptoms. You'll need to have the unit looked at by a commercial servicer.

As per the instruction manual the overload is there because of high volume condidtions and your over heating the unit. They recomend to turn down the volume shut off the reciver wait a few minutes and turn back on the unit with lower volumes. Second it states that the peaker wires or speakers could be shorted so make sure the speakers are good and the wires when you connected them to the reciver are not shorted. If all is hooked up properly then you have a problem in the output stage of the amp and its gonna need service unless you know how to replace the defective output devices? If not Go online at the addy I give you to find about service parts or service manuals.. Good Luck http://www.jvcservice.com
