A pluged air filter will cause that. Depends on what altitude you are at, the carb needs to be adjusted per the altitude, see if it runs at a half choke, this tells you if it is getting to much air. The fuel mixture screw should out 3/4 to 1&1/4 turn out from bottom. Also if your oil mixture is to rich it will power out, 50:1 is 3.2oz. to a Gal. of gas. Also dependes on how old the machine is. Might have to go 80:1

This weedeater spins to the right which makes it difficult to use for me. Is it suppose to spins this way. All other weedeaters I've used over the years have spun to the left counter-clockwise. ...

Hi, if it spins to the right its manufactured that way and cannot be changed. The only solution is to purchase a brand that spins left, sorry. Regards Phil.

My grasshog weed trimmer only spins when it is upside down.

It sounds like the rod that runs from the motor to the head, is either loose or it has broken, so when you turn it upside down that causes it to engage itself and turn. You will have to take this apart and make sure that the holding clamps are in place

Electric Edgehog spins, but has lost 90% of its power (no torque)

I also experienced this - the nut in the center had come loose. Tighten it with a ratchet wrench, and you will be good to go. The Edgehog really does handle most tough jobs for me so far.

B&D grasshog XP motor squeeled and spin rate slowed. repairable?

I just saw your post. Check the area between the housing and the head, along the shaft. Fibrous debris (in my area, this loosely translates into "lilly leaves") gets wound around the shaft, and will slow the universe down to a crawl. The only way to get it loose is to cut it loose, or unwind it.
