Lamp Issue with Mitsubishi WD-62725

My lamp was relatively new, but recently the solid red indicator light appeared saying my lamp had burned out? I replaced this lamp with a new one, and the red indicator light appeared again stating my lamp had burned out? There is something wrong "other than the lamp"? Can anyone shed some light on this maintenance issue?

Thanks,
Mike

Hi I am Vortash it sounds as if the actual fault is in your ballast circuit this is the circuit that fires up the arc on the lamp and sends the signal to the main board that the lamp is running , if this is faulty no signal is received by the board and the lamp light comes on when this happens there is usually still sound but not always as sometimes the problem affects the power supply also .. this is a job for a trained engineer as voltages at the ballast are sometimes in excess of 25000 volts at first arc that then settles to a lower voltage to run ... regards Vortash

Seems there is also a kit you can buy from part store that is for mitsibushi sets that have lamp failiure like this . due to the lead being pulled out at the time of lamp failiure instead of the power switch being turned off the kit comes with a cd telling you how to fix it ?. If I find the site I will post it for you ...Vortash

we have the same brand tv but the 65" model. had a 4 year warranty just in case the lamps went out. the lamp went out and we called conn's to come out and fix the tv. the repairman replaced the lamp, and then he said to unplug the tv from the wall or the strip it is plugged into and wait 5 minutes and then plug it back in. he left and said to call him back if that did not work. did what he said and it fixed the problem. try unplugging the tv for 5 minutes and plug it back in and see if that might take care of your problem.

sounds like the caps on the power board have failed. You can get the V26 DM/Power repair kit from www.tvrepairworld.com which also contains the instructions.

WD-52525 Red lamp Indicator

usually with that model when you get a 34 eror code for lamp abnormality, its directly related to the capacitors on the Power Pwb. You can get the V26 Power PWB repair kit at the following link which repairs that issue. It contains the replacement High temp capacitors with the board location numbers and PWB identification as well as the service manual on CD. Heres the link its under their repair kit ctegory.
