Wireless connection stopped working mouse is wireless also working great I went thru all the steps to set up wireless again and still is not working

Are you sure the mouse is working on the same device as the connection with your camera? I guess you are talking about the wireless connection between your PC and Camera.
For a wireless mouse you are using a wireless dongel. A very small usb dongel. Or when you have a MAC the wireless mouse is connected via a dedicated receiver. Setting uo wireless can be for your Wlan, Camera, Keyboard, Mouse and so on. The network uses ip addresses in a certain range. your camera should be working with IP too, but the mouse uses a different protocol and does not work on your network at all.
The only thing these wireless things have in common is they use radio waves. protocols are different. So a working mouse is no guaranty your network or camera is configured correct. Nor a guaranty your switches or routers are working correct.

Please try to describe exact what is working and what is not working. Perhaps you still remember when something went wrong.

Lost wireless connection. Diagnosis said network connection o.k but cable not connected to network adapter for local area connections. cheked and all cables connected even changed blue line ethernet...

Check if the wireless works by directly connecting to the Lan port and the system. If it works, you may have to check for the Wireless Home Setup. Check if there are changes made to the Freequencies. 802.3 g usually gives max range. In case you are working at a distance which the signal wouldnt cover, the system can show network not detected. Also try to work on a Manual Address mode than DHCP and find if the network is getting detected. Check if the WNC is enabled and if working on DHCP, try do a tcp ip reset using the command from the command prompt... by using the command ipconfig /release.
and then ipconfig /renew
if the ip is renewed successfully, the wireless router is allocating the new tcp ip address and your network should work. Good luck.

I have a laptop running 802,11 g/b and vista and I Cant connect to linksys wag160n wireless router(802,11 n). laptop sometimes recognises network but when I try to connect it wont. could you help ?

Hi, You cannot connect across wireless protocols. In other words to connect to 802.11 n you need an "n" adapter.

Now, the router should be backward compatible & provide wireless g/b but you may find that when you search for networks it will be listed as a seperate network name (from the same router)

Try searching for this other network. Your router documentation should advise you of its default name & any set up process

Ip address for brother 2040

Up to 20 pages per minute
• HQ1200 resolution (up to 2400x600dpi)
• HL-2040: 8MB memory standard
HL-2070N: 16MB memory standard
• 250-sheet input capacity
• USB 2.0 and Parallel interfaces1
• Built-in Ethernet Network Interface1 (HL-2070N)
The 2070 has networking not the 2040, according to the borchure, you would not be able to network this one, only usb and parrallel port. You could do it if you wanted to use a computer as your network printer server. In that case just use your router to select an ip address for that machine and either run it in DMZ if you have a linksys . If you just enable shared printer it should work on all your machines on the network. That's how I did it prior to a 4in1 wireless.

Connect to network printer

Are you positive it is a HL 2040? The 2040 only has parallel and usb ports. The HL 2070 has the network port.

Anyway, if it is already being printed to on the network from other printers go to one of the other PC's and look under the printer properties tab, go to the ports tab and see which IP address has a checkmark in the box......that is the IP address you will need...

If it isn't already setup on another PC then you will need the setup CD that has the BRAdmin Professional Software.

Linksys wireless camera--viewable if ISP uses dynamic IPs?

Ok, everything by default hands out dynamic ip addresses. If the camera is plugged into the network it will automatically pick up an ip address and you would be able to see it in your router config page. Try attaching the camera to the wireless network and then log into your router and look for attached devices. Let me know if you get stuck and where you get stuck.

Wireless installation for DCS-5220

Plug in the network cable first and make sure the following settings are correct:

1. SSID is the same and set to broadcast
2. You are using the same WPA AES password as the router (or WEP password if you are using WEP)
3. The wireless antennae is connected
4. The camera is located not to far from the router

After that, remove the network cable and restart your camera.

Setting NG

make sure you are using a crossover cable. A straight through ethernet cable will not work for talking with your computer. Next, go to your network connections. click on TCP/IP properties and enter in for the IP address 192.168.0.101 and a subnet mask of 255.255.255.0 apply it. go back to network connections and disable then enable your connection. Now go to the Sony IP setup program. Double click on your camera when it appears. Don't forget the default address of the camera is 192.168.0.100.

Camera Not Working Wirelessly

I think maybe the problem is that the cam has already been recognised and given an ip address when you connect via RJ45 cable, but when you try wirelessly, there is a replication of the ip address which is not allowed. Check your router to see what ip address was given to the cam and remove if neccasary so as to re new the cam ipaddress. I would turn off the encryption first to try and get it working, then turn on again.
