Dishwasher does not clean tea stains from teacups- we have tried a variety of soaps and have used sani-clean. Machine is only one month old- new fully integrated model.

Method #1

  • Wet a cloth then rub the inside of the mug with baking soda. If the stains are stubborn, soak overnight in hot water and baking soda.

Method #2

  • Soak the mug in bleach OR vinegar for several hours or overnight.

Method #3

  • Fill mug with boiling water, add two spoonfuls of dishwasher detergent then soak overnight.

Method #4

  • Try a paste of corn starch and vinegar, apply and let sit for a few minutes then scrub away.

Method #5

  • Drop two denture tablets in the mug, pour hot water over top then soak overnight.

After soaking mugs and removing the stains, rinse and wash very well before using-especially when using the bleach method.

I have a model awn412SP top loading washer we bought last year - a plastic bottle of bleach that was on a shelf above ate through and dripped into our washing machine stainless steel tub - that also ate...

Clorine is very strong caustic . It can and will eat tru steel. Run baking soda through serval wash cycles followed by vinegar and rinse again with baking soda. This should remove the bleach or at least neutralize the caustic solution

We've owned this washing machine for r+ years and it has been making our clothes smell awful--in fact, the machine itself smells awful. I've tried cleaning the basin with a bleach solution and I even ran...

By my experience on Washer Machines, I would say that the problem are bacteria and mildew growing in the machine, not exactly in the drain or drum from the machine. Mildew can grow everywhere.

Oh, by the way, don't even think about bypassing any sensor from your machine. You don't want to wake up tomorrow and find a pool in your house, right?

To kill mildew and bacteria you may want to try some simple solutions:

* Keep the lid up between washes so that bacteria and mildew won't grow in it. Pour a bottle of vinegar in hot water and run it though the machine on a heavy load wash. When it is finished, leave the lid up.
* Didn't help? then pour a box of baking soda in it and running it with hot water cycle. Try running it without clothes.

... I mean, Run the washer machine without clothes inside. (Oh my gosh, I should go to bed, it's too late for giving advice on FixYa)

* If the smell continues Pour a big bottle of peroxide hydrogen (the 3% one from the drug store) and run a heavy load wash. Be sure not to use good clothes, it will get white. if that does not work, u may have a more serious problem. Perhaps the machine needs to receive maintenance and spray some peroxide hydrogen where the mildew is growing.

Also, You can try a commercial product for this kind of issue: http://www.smellywasher.com/

Some people says that it works when everything else fails.

Good luck!

Foul odors

Hi

Thanks for using FixYa. Check down the edge of the door seal, see if there is a lot of "gunk" there, this would cause grey marks on laundry. If it is a front load washer then try these steps--

You'll have to do a few maintenance washes to clear it out of the tub.Try these steps to remove the dirt, debris and odor from the washer—

Set your machine to 60 degree wash.
  1. Now add 1/2 a cup of Washing Soda or 4 cups of baking sodaCrystals and run the machine with no clothes in it.
  2. Your drain will sparkle, and it will remove all the debris, lint & mold growth from the drain pump and drain filter. Also the mold from the door seal will be cleared
  3. Add 1 desert spoonful of Washing Soda to every wash... I sprinkle it along the crease in the door seal.
  4. Clean the fabric softener cup with a rag first, (bleach will not break up fabric softener as it is introduced in the rinse cycle with the fabric softener.
  5. Also check the drain hose, it should not be clogged.

This will clean your machine and get rid of the odor.
And, if it’s a top load washer then try these steps—

Remove the dispenser and spray with white vinegar. Then spray the agitator with it too. You can pretty much wipe it right out. Vinegar dissolves softener very quickly. The dispenser just wash out with warm water after the vinegar sits on it for a minute, and you hardly have to wipe at it at all. try adding bleach to the dispenser and clean it with a small brush.

The dispenser will pull off from the agitator and you can run hot water in it from the sink. The agitator is not as easy but has a 1/2" bolt holding it to the shaft. remove the bolt and pull up. but you can clean the whole washer with a cup of bleach and that will also clean the agitator. Now run a full tub of hot water and then add a cup of bleach with no soap. After the washer has filled up, then add another gallon of hot water and that will help to rinse out the residues that cause odors. then after that dont use too much soap and you wont have residue build up. Only use the smallest amount of soap that the cup has marked in it.

Please do rate the solution and revert for further assistance.

Thanks

Rylee

Horrid smell in clothes - LG tromm front loader

Odors are caused by a variety of particulates, and each is neutralized by a specific formula.

I don't know what type of odor you are dealing with, so we'll start with first attacking any soap residues. Buy a gallon of white vinegar, and run a small laod wash cycle using hot water and add 1 quart of vinegar and 1 cup of baking soda, repeat a second time.

After the vinegar treatment, run another small load wash with hot water and 2 cups of bleach, and one cup of baking

Finally, dampen a rag with vanilla extract, and wipe down the the inside of the tub and door.

If you are sure that the pump is not blocked then try running the machine on a quick wash on its own with a little bleach in the drawer.

Clean clothes that smell bad

Peace,
ngafm at your service!
You may have a small amount of water or lint lift in the machine somewhere that is not completely dumping out !
This is sometimes common on front loaders! Or the pump is weak!
I tell my customers to try running the washer without clothes once a week with hot water and a 1/4 cup of bleach!
. BUT the first load you do after this must be white in case there is a drop of bleach left in the system, that it does not spot bleach a white spot on your colored clothes!

If not this does not remedy the situation you will need hands on service!

Thank You!
