Question about Audio Players & Recorders

2 Answers

No video when using DVD mode and I don't have a remote!

I am not sure if there is a way to program my Philips TV remote to operate the Yamaha RX V620, if so, what is the code to input?

Otherwise, just let me know the possible problem with settings so that I can go buy a Yamaha remote for this device and be able to fix the problem.

Thank you.

I had the same problem with a Yamaha RX-V750 receiver - here is how I solved it. First let me explain my connections: I had component connection out of the DVD and into the component DVD input on the receiver. Audio was connected to the L/R and optical inputs of the receiver. The video output of the receiver was the monitor (component) output. If I selected the DVD on the receiver I would get audio but no video. Oddly enough if I dialed the receiver over to the VCR2 selection the DVD video would appear but it would have the audio from the VCR.

Here is what I discovered: I went into the setup menu, went to the input/output (I/O) setup and discovered the DVD input was set up wrong. Once I changed it to DVD it worked fine.

Check that a button isn't jammed. Do all the buttons press normally? maybe the remote needs a really good cleaning to remove the crud from the buttons.

Yamaha Rx-v365 trying to program remote for

Press and hold "DTV" then, while holding doen DTV, press power and hold for three seconds. Release both buttons and enter your code. The front panel of the receiver will say "remote setup ok" or "NG" (no good) That being said; while you are in the process of finger acrobatics! make sure your remote is pointing in the general direction of the receiver. Yes, it's a pain, however, once your done, the Yamaha remote is a champ! Hope this helps.

Set TV Code for Yamaha Remote RAV-290

Do any experts know the answer to this question? It has been posted multiple times, but I dont' see any answers! It is a pitiful manual that is provided by Yamaha for this purpose and nothing is intuitive about making this work. If anyone know the answer, PLEASE POST IT!

Need yamaha codes to program into uverse tv ir remote

(I have the RX-V659). Because the Yamaha remote has TWO SEPARATE buttons - power ON and power OFF (standby). This problem can't be fixed. There's a code to choose power ON and another code for power OFF. But one button can't be two buttons. Bad engineering\ design by Yamaha in my opinion

Need codes for comcast remote to ilo tv

When programming your Comcast universal remote for your TV, the programming guide states that you should enter the 4-digit code provided for your equipment, and if you did it correctly, the TV button will blink twice.

What you have to do is put a "1" in front of your 4-digit code, making your code a 5-digit code. For instance, the code for my Panasonic is listed as 0250. I tried and tried. Then I entered 10250 and it worked perfectly the first time. I did it again to make sure I wasn't seeing things, and it worked.

Good luck.

Display is permanently "off" on the Yamaha RX-V620

Sounds like the LED that lights up the display has burnt out. An easy fix, if you're not afraid to take the front panel apart and resolder a new one.
