CAMERA TURNS ON FOR A SPLIT SECOND THEN SHUTS OFF

ITS NOT THE BATTERIES!!!!! I have had the camera about 8 months (MINIMAL USE)and it has worked great and I was very happy with it until this Memorial weekend when after taking about 6 photos it died! Batteries are good, but it will only turn on for a second, screen flashed on/off then the blue power button shuts off. That is all it will do. I let it set overnite and tried again, this time it started to work, I took one picture and the same thing happened again. Now it will not work at all (SAME PROBLEM AS ABOVE)and the lens is in the open position. The camera has not been subjected to any shocks or water EVER! I have seen on the web that this problem is common with the Kodak Z1275. If this is how Kodak builds cameras and especially supports them, then I WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER KODAK PRODUCT EVER AGAIN!
