Question about Gateway MX6450 Notebook

Need driver for Gateway wireless

Gateway MX6450, reloaded OS (Windows XP Media Edition), need driver for internal wireless adaptor, not on website. Website has driver for cabled network adapter (which works) but not for wireless adapter.

Driver page for that model (MX6450) does not contain driver for the wireless adapter. (Has drivers for other devices, just not the wireless)

For me, driver for a different PC mfg (Dell) for a Broadcom 4318 wireless adapter worked - filename R115321.exe for a "Dell TrueMobile 1300 WLAN Mini-PCI Card"

    * General solution - I had no idea as to the make or model of the adapter (since Windows didn't recognize it and Gateway specs didn't state). However, Device Manager (for the unrecognized device) "Details" tab displayed some parameters including several "Hardware Ids" such as PCI\VEN_14E4&DEV_4318&SUBSYS_044914E4&REV_02. Assuming one of the numeric strings (4318 or 044914) was a model or some type of identifier, I searched the Internet and found that Broadcom model 4318 was a popular adapter used by many PC mfgs. I tried several drivers from different PC mfgs for laptops using a Broadcom 4318 wireless adapter and eventually found one that worked. Device now shows in Windows as a Dell card but has been working perfectly.

Not sure if exact same driver will work for all Gateway MX6450 laptops but, if not, perhaps same general solution idea above may be helpful.

Dell dimension 5150 ethernet problem reloaded windows xp home from a windows xp entertainment os. apear fine but not receiving.

Okay, so it seems you installed Microsoft Windows XP Home on a what was Media Center Edition installation, and the ethernet is no longer worker.
Please refer to's support section, enter your model, and download drivers that you need.
To find drivers you need, Go to start --> control panel and then go to (under classic view) system --> the hardware section, open up device manager, and then look for ones with a yellow big question mark, and get those drivers from dell's website. Burn these drivers to a CD on another computer, or use a USB flash drive if that does work.
Good luck.
