Question about X2Gen MG19VT 19" LCD Monitor

Screen goes black but power light stays on

I have an X2gen 19" wide lcd monitor. I think the model number is MW19R if that means anything. The problem is that whenever I turn my monitor on, it only stays on for a few minutes. The time seems to vary slightly. The screen will just go completely black as if it was powered off. However, the blue power light is still on. Therefore, I can simply press the power button to turn it off and then press it again to turn the monitor back on. The monitor then proceeds to work for several minutes and again and then the problem repeats.

The J is a capacitor code that means 5% tolerance.

Hello. I had the same problem with my X2gen 19" (model MW19R)monitor. In my case, the monitor would turn off after 20 seconds or so but the blue power light would stay on as well. I had to replace a high voltage capacitor located in the backlight power supply board. There are 4 blue capacitors on the board which are identical and they are marked as 27J 3KV. Fortunately, I only had to replace one of these capacitors ( it was turning a yellowish brownish color ). Hope this helps.

You have several capacitors on the power supply board which have changed their value. Using an ESR meter they'll be easy to locate. Sometime you can even spot them because they have bulged out their tops. If you don't have the capability to test and replace these then send it to a pro. I repair these all the time for a modest charge. You should be able to find someone locally.

After hooking up my Dell to the monitor it displayed a message ! " Out of range ," the monitor then went black . How do I fix it ?

Your screen resolution or refresh rate is set out of limits for the monitor. Check your monitor documentation to determine the correct resolution and refresh rates for the monitor. Then reboot the PC, go into SAFE mode, then re-adjust the display resolution there. Once you reboot after that, the monitor should be fine.

I have x2Gen 19" LCD Monitor. I hooked up the

More likely to be the fuse for the backlight inverter circuits rated at 3.5 or 4Amps. It is PICO fuse.
The transistors that drive the inverter transformers may have been damaged, should check them out before installin a new fuse. In the mean time you can use 1 to 2 Ohms 1/2 Metal Oxide (MOX) resistor in place of the fuse, if the resistor overheatand open up then you have shorts circuits.

Screen goes dark after 1minute, power lite stays on

Possibly the lcd ccfl inverter. Ebay sells universal ones for 9 to 25 dollars each. Monitor repair knowledge needed to replace this part.
It could also be your external power supply if it is not OEM. Or if it failing under a load. If the picture is good when it is on, I always start looking at the power supply and the ccfl inverter/transformer. Please understand I am not an expert on LCD's I just seem to get lots of failing ones. ---Hope this helps.

Mn x2gen monitor will not power up. The power supply's led is illuminated. The light on the power button is very dim. Model #MW19R

Most common failures in the LCD monitors are bad capacitors (bulging top/seal or leaking) in the power supply, blown fuses, poor solder joints, failed inverter circuits (blown fuse, shorted transistors, shorted/open transformers), bad lamps (poor solder connections or worn out lamps). You will need to open it up and inspect the inside, see example of failed monitors to get some ideas what to look for:
Post back what you see inside so we can guide you further and it will help out other people in the future also.

Black out

even i had this same problem.....its two 220uF25V capacitors and one 47uF35V capacitor located on the backlight inverter chip covered by a plastic shield. It works just fine now. Be sure you get the polarity right when soldering in the new capacitors. It is marked by a shaded in half of the outline on the board and a line on the new capacitor. This was on x2gen 19inch wide screen though so check the specs of the capacitors on yours first. They all together cost around $5 at Radioshack.
hope i was helpful thank you
hav a nice day

X2gen MW19R picture only stays on for one to fifteen seconds...

Dear Chris,

Visually check the component :
Try checking on the power board , may be ESR of capacitor is faulty and power resistor shorted and burnt.
