Question about HP Pavilion dv1000 Notebook
My touchpad & keyboard freezes but the laptop does not and can be operated from USB mouse & keyboard. Actually my tag says it is a DV1550se but HP reports it as an DV1411se. It freezes within minutes of booting up so it is not an overheating problem. There have been a lot of reported problems like this but no clear solutions. I have eliminated most potential problem sources. I have updated all drivers. There is no virus. I have replaced the keyboard, touchpad & cables but the problem persists. I have isolated it to the touchpad by disconnecting the touchpad cable internally. Running w/o the touchpad, there is no problem and the keyboard works fine with no freezing. It would seem the only source left is either the motherboard or processor which will be difficult and expensive to replace. Does anyone have any other suggestions? Thanks.
Sometimes its a hardware driver software and OS driver software conflict on touchpad. if after OS installation the touchpad is already detected, no need to install the touchpad driver. try disabling the touchpad driver you installed. hope this helps
