First, remove any memory stick you may have plugged in. Next, check the CD - DVD drive - is there a CD or DVD inside? Remove it. Still getting the error? There is a progblem with your hard drive. I suggest you seek professional help with this rather than try to fix it yourself. Your data is depending on you.

I want to know which memory to buy for my pc. I checked it on and it said I could upgrade to 1gb. When I looked inside the cover I saw a 256mb memory chip but could not see how many slots it...

hello, here's a part of the spec from the hp website. It looks like you've got 256mb on board memory and one expansion memory slot in which you can fit a 1024mb card, giving you a max memory of 1280mb (1024+256).
Hope this helps!

I want to upgrade my Toshiba Qosmio G25-AV513 to windows 7, but I understand that some of the programs will not function properly due to the old hard drive. Is this true or is the company I called for...

Uhm. I am typing this from a Qosmio G25-AV513... Using Windows 7.. With the original Hard drive.. Someone is lying to you. Lemme guess.. Best Buy?? Anyway.. It wasn't a totally straightforward upgrade.. You will need a little computer knowledge (finding drivers, ETC.) And since this computer came with a RAID setup, you will need to download the windows 7 raid drivers, and put them on a thumb drive BEOFRE you start installing, because when you get to the install screen it won't find a hard drive, you have to put the thumb drive in and click "Load Drivers", then load the RAID driver and it will work.. Drivers are kind of a pain to find since Toshiba didn't update their website with Vista or 7 drivers.. Thanks Toshiba. If you need help, e-mail me. Good luck!

First, you will not be able to upgrade the video card on your laptop, since video cards for laptops are specifically designed to fit onto the motherboard and the design of the laptops body.

Secondly, sound cards as well are also deisgined that way, some sound cards on laptops are built in to the mother board and higher end sound card for laptops are specifically designed to fit onto the motherboard and the laptop's body.

Hard Drives on the other hand can be upgraded to a higher capacity but you can't add an additional Hard Drive. I have checked the specs of your laptop has 80GB IDE. You can upgrade to 120GB IDE or higher if you like. Just make sure that you purchase a 2.5" HDD (5400RPM/7200RPM speeds).

Here are examples of Hard drivers that you need for upgrade. I checked for available laptop hard drive. You can check other online stores or other computer shops near you if you as well.

links (Hard Drive) :

**Since you have installed Windows Vista, I suggest that you upgrade the RAM (Memory) on the laptop for smooth performance for Windows Vista. The maximum memory on your laptop is 2GB DDR SDRAM. Buyin RAM for laptops are a little but tricky so you can just go to the link below for specific memory upgrade for your laptop (I suggest that you purchase 2 pcs of 1GB since your system can accomodate up to 2GB).

Link for RAM (Memory) :

**If you decied to upgrade the Hard Drive, you can still use you old Hard Drive as an USB external Hard drive for storage purposes. You will just have to purchase a 2.5" External Hard Drive Enclosure. Click on the link below for the example of the product :

**If you can't click on the links, just copy the link and paste it to your's browser's address bar.
