Can not print

Good Morning, I have my HPj3680 hooked up to my laptop. There seems to be two problems.1. I do not see the ICon on the desktop for my printer2. When I try to print, nothing prints out. The computer says it is going to the printer, but it doesn't print out. I checked the print preferences, and this is the default printer,Also when I printed a test page it printed out fine. Please help

    HP officejet J3680, the printer is not paused, and I am able to see the icon in the tray, the software I am not certain if it is completly loaded, it went through the process and it stated installation completed successfully, but it did not appear to have the simple plug and play mode.

    Thank you, but everything is connected and the printer is on, the printer continues to tell me there is no connection to the computer, and when I look at the print options, the connection button is grey, which indicates to me there is no connection, but I don't know how to get it connected.

The printer icon wouldn't appear on the desktop but in your Printers folder. When you try to print does the printer show up in the lower right hand corner? If it does, right click on it, click on properties. You should see what you're trying to print there. Click on the top left and make sure the printer isn't Paused or that Stop isn't selected. Either of these 2 would leave your print jobs in the queue without actually printing them. Hope this helps. Please feel free to post back with any other questions.

    I would uninstall the HP software since you're unsure if it fully installed. Below is a link to the HP software package including drivers. This if for XP and Vista. If you're unsure, allow it to do a normal install. You can always customize the install afterward.

    Check your connections USB and power cord for the printer. Other thing (i know it sounds dumb) make sure the printer is turned on. I leave mine on all the time but there are those who turn it off after use.

    try changing USB ports. If the printer doesn't connect, then uninstall the printer and associated software. Reboot, and reinstall the printer. Can only think that when you had an issue loading the software, it somehow didnt' set up your port settings or network connection settings. Re-installing everything should fix the problem.

this could be a very complex problem if you hooked your printer up to your pc prior to running the driver instalation disk. most printers requie you hook them up when qued by the install. the best advice i can give would be to uninstall the printer remove the printer connewction from the usb and insure it is removed from the device manager located in the properties section of you computer.

Windows7 provides a basic set of scanning drivers, also referred to as Windows Image Aquisition (WIA) drivers, that you can use as an alternative to scan a document when you cannot scan using the HP drivers. You might choose to use these scanning drivers for one of the following reasons:
  • Your product released before Windows7 and HP has not released drivers that support scanning for your product.
  • You have not installed the available HP software that includes scanning.
  • You are troubleshooting a scanning problem and trying to identify the source of the problem.
ScanningUse one of the following three methods to scan a document. Method one: Scanning with Windows Live Photo GalleryTo scan a document using Windows Live Photo Gallery in Windows7, follow these steps:
  1. Click the Windows icon c01319360.gif , click All Programs , and then click Windows Live Photo Gallery .
  2. Click File , and then click Import From Camera or Scanner .

I have a desktop computer that is hooked up to a printer. Recently I purchased a laptop and router. I was trying to print from the laptop to the printer, but get the message that the printer is offline....


Yes you will need the desktop on at the entire time. The desktop is acting like a print server to your laptop. If it is turned off your laptop will not be able to share the printer from the desktop. If you want to be able to turn off your desktop you should buy a printer that has networking capablity. There are many different kinds available and even some that are capable of wireless networking. This would be the route to go.

I want to install the bluetooth software in my laptop.


Good morning! I presume that you have the CD driver of the Bluetooth software that you want to install in your computer, if there is. then put it in the CD drive of your computer, if the CD driver have the autoset-up configuration then bluetooth installation menu will appear automatically on the screen of your computer then just follow/click the installation instructions. If CD driver have no autoset-up config, then we have to click Start icon then click Run then Browse then look in the CD drive then click Open then locate the Set-up.exe icon then click OK. best regards

Hi Stella,
There is a button on the projector called "Auto Image"
Most people don't realize it's even there.
Press it while you are seeing this problem and most likely the projector will figure out the image issue and all will be well.
Note: this feature is nowhere in the menu(s)

Hello: What I would say is: go to microsoft update and make sure you have all the updates for your OS.

Then; read the posting (below) from someone who had the same issue:
