I had the same problem with the LC-46D64U. 2 green lines running down the side of the screen from top to bottom. I returned it to the store and got another one. Is there a solution for this problem?

  • techlaggard Jan 27, 2008

Thought I should report SAME PROBLEM, Vertical green line or stripe, one pixel wide, pure bright green, about 3/4" from left edge of LCD screen regardless of view mode or input, i.e., even with no device plugged in. Developed after 5 weeks outta da box. Under Xmas return policy, was able to take it back to the store for an exchange. Don't expect an easy fix for this problem...it's probably a short in a circuit board or wire on the screen. That stripe ain't going away, it's gonna get worse. Based on what I've read, return for swap if at all possible. Seems to be a problem with SHARP.

I've had my Sceptre 42" Komodo TV for a year or so now with no problems. Normal viewing is regular reception through DirecTV.

I have suddenly developed a bright green vertical line one pixel wide and exactly centered on the display. Any suggestions on why it happened or, more importantly, how to get rid of it?

    Thanks, jim

I have a LC-46D92U. A thin green vertical line appeared on the right hand side of the screen 13 months after purchased. I noticed it only showed up on the HD channels. I called Sharp Customer Service and they had me manually reset the TV to the factory settings using the remote. Problem solved. Green line went away!

I have the same problem with a thin green line down the right hand side. Resetting to factory specs did not fix the problem. I get the strong impression that this is a software defect (drivers). Mine is the 46"

If you were to plug it into an external display, that will tell you whether it is a VGA uProcessor fault or a screen fault. If it is a screen fault, checkout ebay for a replacement screen.
Hope that helps.

My Lcd tv has a thin green line running from top to bottom on the left hand side

Unfortunately this is a problem with the screen & the only solution is to have it replaced. If it is still under warranty then there should not be any problem if however it is not, then it would be uneconomical to get the screen replaced as this can be very expensive.

Green vertical line on videocon 42inch plasma tv

Hello Depending how wide the line is their could be two possible causes.
I have two questions for you.
1. How wide is the line.
2. Does it run from top of screen to bottom of screen?
If the line is thin a single strait line then it is possible the PDP has gone Bad (Panel). (Screen). The screen will to be replaced.
If the line is at least 2 or more inches wide then its a buffer board which can be replaced. LG calls this board Hand insert Boards or display driver boards..

Thin Green line from top to bottom of screen

Usually the case with this issue is the LCD panel itself. After a certain long period of time, some LCD panels just bug out and stop working. ( not sure why, possibly the way they were assembled and manufactured. For instance the LCD Panel has 8 connectors ((top)) and 3 connectors ((left)) (((Depends on model)))that attach to the main board of the LCD Panel, and on many occasions the thin lines wear and cut and therefore loosing part of your screen. If i explain further how it works i can write you a good explanation, just message me. That is the issue or the Cable connector from the Video Card to the LCD Panel is faulty. Try replacing that or the line will stay there for a long while then eventually your LCD display will begin to show more lines and eventualy Nebula itself. ( unusable )

You can also try repairing the LCD, in some rare cases the only problem when the line shows up is because of the video genesis card inside the FPD. try swapping that out with a known good one and perhaps that will work otherwise eventually the monitor will begin to stop working over time.

sharp is very aware of the panel and main video processor problems. They should give you no problems on the repair. It sounds most likely you have a main video processor problem.
