Display not working

Hi! My name is Mace and I'm here to help you.

Are you using the built in video card or you are using a pci video card.

Assuming you are using a built in video card. Check the CMOS setup and make sure the video card is enabled.

Assuming you are using a pci video card. Try to disconnect it from the motherboard and reseat it properly. Better check also that the built in video card is disabled in your CMOS setup. And that you installed the driver if its not plug and play. Check also if the vga cable is properly connected to both the video card and the monitor.

Please post back if you still have some questions.

I hope this information will help you.
Thank you for using Fixya.

Mobo fried? Beeps when startup but no video. I reseated ram and video card, with no luck. Both fans work and it sounds like it is booting. I tried older video card too but nothing. Thanks for any...

Try removing the display card and using the onboard VGA. Remove the BIOS/CMOS battery for about a minute and then reinstall it in the correct orientation. This will reset the BIOS/CMOS to it's default settings. You say it beeps once, this means that it is fine the mainboard is ok, it is not experiencing any problems. If it beeps in a continuous manner then it is the RAM that is causing the problems, I would say that the default settings may solve your troubles. Remember to enter the BIOS/CMOS when during boot up to reset the date and time by hitting the delete key. Also try entering the BIOS/CMOS even if you can't see any thing on screen, by doing this it may come up. let me know how it goes, I am here to help.

Thanking you

I turn my Gateway E4100 on and all the lights come on and the fan comes on but the monitor will not display anything I have tried a few different monitors and the ame thing always happens. Any thoughts?

Default Video Adapter Might Be Set Wrong Within Bios, RESET Your CMOS, by taking the pin and taking it from 1-2 and put it on 2-3. Or Just Take Out The Battery On The Board. Change Ur Adapter To Whichever Matches Your Card. PCI, AGP, PEG (PCI-E)

I Also Assumed Your Video Card Wasnt Built On, You Could Try Plugging Your Monitor Into Your Build On Video Adapter.

If All Fails, Try A Different Video Card. I Had a video card kill my computer once

Pc boots but no display. tried a new video card, still wont work. ram or motherboard?

Hi.
To start the troubleshooting,
Do one thing.
Clear the cmos.
To clear the cmos, remove the battery and the cmos jumper. You will see JCC on the mb and it is attached to pin 1&2
You can Short it to pin 2&3 or remove it completely.
Don't forget to remove the power-cord from the power supply while clearing the cmos. together with the cmos bat & jumper.
After that try a different ram and a different vga card.
At times dust get accumulated in the slot that prevent firm contact with the vga slot or the memory bank.
Use a clean paint-brush and blow away the dust on the card, the mem and also the slot in the mb.
Fix it firmly.
try this
If you need further assitance revert back
Good luck

How do i disable the onboard video so i can install a video card

Depending on what type of computer you have there's several options but the easiest route would be this....

1) Turn your computer completely off and on.
2) When the computer is booting up look for "SETUP" or "ENTER SETUP" and press whatever key is required. (Doing this will take you into BIOS)
3) When you are in BIOS just look around for "Onboard Video:Enabled" and change it to "Disabled"
4) Save your settings and turn your computer off.
5) Install new video card.

If you have any other questions feel free to ask.

Pc goes into power save mode

Motherboard specs show it has integrated audio. Try removing the audio card and connecting sound to the MB audio.

Powersave is OS related not hardware. Look at user settings.

Dual monitor

Depending on the exact model Radeon card. If you mean to dual display with onboard and with the card. That is not possible it can not be done.
If you need further assistance please let me know.
