Question about LG WM-2277HW Front Load Washer
I have WM2277HW that is just out of warranty and when it is spinning it now sounds like a jet airplane in your pocket. Totally unimpressed with this "reliable new design".
Even spinning the tub slowly it now soundslike dry bearing so it would appear that one or both of the bearings are worn out. I can see how to remove the motor but lacking a service manual I don't clearly see how to extract the bearings. Should I simply remove the screws from the mounting plate and use a puller to push against the drum shaft and pull the plate back to free the bearings?
Does anyone know where I can get a service manual? LG does not seem to be very forthcoming with information other than saying to call their qualified service guys that are an hour away.
We had a similar problem on our WM2277HW about a year ago. I was sure it was bearings and LG covered a service call even though it was a few months out of warranty. It turned out that an "underwire" from one of my wife's bras had gotten lodged between the drum and something stationary. They removed it and it's been fine.

Changing the bearing is a huge job. it requires taking the whole washer completly apart
