When a 2005 Suzuki Boulevard C50 motorcycle spins over but doesn't crank and there is no fire, meaning no spark, it indicates a potential issue with the ignition system. Here are a few common causes to consider:
1. Faulty spark plugs: Check the spark plugs to ensure they are in good condition. If they are worn out, fouled, or damaged, they may not produce a spark. Replace any faulty spark plugs and ensure they are properly gapped.
2. Ignition coil failure: The ignition coil is responsible for generating the high voltage needed to create a spark at the spark plugs. If the ignition coil is faulty or damaged, it may not produce the necessary spark. Consider testing or replacing the ignition coil if necessary.
3. Ignition switch or wiring issue: Inspect the ignition switch and associated wiring for any loose connections, damaged wires, or faulty switches. A problem in the ignition circuit can prevent the spark from being generated. Repair or replace any faulty components as needed.
4. Faulty ignition control module: The ignition control module (ICM) controls the timing and delivery of the spark. If the ICM is defective, it may not send the signal to the ignition coil to generate a spark. Testing or replacing the ICM may be necessary.
5. Fuel delivery issue: While the symptom you described seems to indicate a lack of spark, it's worth checking the fuel system as well. Ensure the fuel tank has an adequate amount of fuel and that the fuel lines are not clogged or kinked.
It is recommended to consult a professional motorcycle mechanic or authorized Suzuki service center to diagnose and fix the issue. They will have the expertise and necessary equipment to accurately diagnose the problem with your 2005 Suzuki Boulevard C50 and perform any required repairs.
There's a pressure switch attached to the inducer fan via a small tube. check that the tube flows air freely and both it's connectors are clear (blow through it, don't blow toward the pressure switch). That could be the whole problem. You could also check your fan, a rodent or a bird could have gotten inside and could be preventing airflow. If neither of those work, bypass the pressure switch by jumping the 2 wires together after the inducer fan has started running. This should start the spark ignition after a set time. If not, it's likely that the S8600 has failed. It's also a good idea before we get carried away to just clean the whole burner setup with a toothbrush or pressurized air. Take a look at that sparker and see if it's shorted in any way. I'm hoping this helps you.
First pull the ignitor wire off the ignition module...hold a screwdriver 1/8 to 1/4 inch away from the electrode pin on the module then turn the unit on to see if it sparks differently than what you described before you replace the ignitor.
Honeywell is a controls company and makes a variety of auto-pilots. If this is a no spark problem, does the lead from the igniter go to a big PC board or a module. If a module, check voltage to the spark module or thermostat voltage to the ignition module. If it comes from a large board, the board may be bad. I'll need more Info. if this does not cover it for you.
You have 3 coils located on top of the ignition module with 2 spark plug wires to each. Usually on that vehicle only one coil dies at once. But if you have no spark at all the ignition module would be the usual problem. There are a couple other unlikely things that can also cause this problem but it will require a repair shop to diagnosis them.
I would replace the intermitant spark ignition module if it did not produce a spark from the spark terminal to ground if held 1/8" away. Honeywell makes a universal replacement. I think it is either a S8610U or S8900U.
