Purchased a winter pine candle - kept the wick trimmed but it burned smoke all the time and burned down very fast

Purchased a ****** Winter Pine 7 oz. Candle - kept the wick trimmed but it constantly burned smoke and also burned down way too quick . Not happy with this candle at all although liked the fragrance but not the performance of this particular candle . Not like the other ****** Candles we purchased for Christmas .Some of them were larger ,smaller and the same and had no problem with the wick or the burning . Hope you have a answer - I think it just might have been one of those lemons that occur now and then - still not happy with it at all !

Incorrect composition of the wax
excessive flammable component used--could be the oil used to get the fragrance

SOURCE: wick problems

Turn the bowl upside down and use a match or much better, a cigarette lighter to melt the wax directly below (normally above) the black wick, moving the flame it back and forward. Watch out for hot wax dripping onto your skin!
Then turn the bown over and use a butter knife to scrape the wax above the wick away and remove the wax above and on either side of the wick. You may have to do this operation a few times, but eventually you should be able to gently get the knife under the buried wick and (gently!) prise it back into an upright position.
Don't do this roughly, or you could snap the wick off at its base, it needs to be pretty much out of the wax and softened by the flame before you try to bend it back up.

Then light the cantle and let it burn for ten minutes, until the wax all around it is clear liquid - then blow it out, and after ensuring that the wick tip is no longer glowing, quickly crush a few absorbent paper towels into the bowl and upturn it again. The aim is to allow the towel to absorb excess molten wax, which should preven the wick from being buried under wax again when the candle cools.

I have a 2005 Chevy Cavalier LS 2.2 ecotec engine if left in park to idle after 4 to 5 min car will smoke lightly. What would be my problem?

we can not see smoke, (actual location) and matters huge
a tech sees 2 things, (tail pipe end)
  1. steam
  2. or smoke
  3. normal steam,
smoke takes long time to dissipate and smells like burning oil. and is.
steam dissipates fast, and smells sweet just like antifreeze smells and IS.
ask someone, that has a nose,
for sure a shop.

is this your first car or first time driven in winter. is it winter in you country? IDK?
so if cold in the morning, is your neighbors car smoking?
yes, bingo normal. (this is normal steam part of combustion)

My candle flame is burning too high and letting out a lot of smoke. What can I do about it?

If your candle is smoking or blowing too high, then blow it out and when it has cooled down, you can trim the wick and then try again.

Best way to clean a laminate "wood" floor. I use Pine Sol and lately have been noticing streak marks and dullness.

The old standby of glass cleaner should do the trick. Use a spray bottle, and spray a small 4x4 section at a time, let it sit for about 2min. , then wipe up with rags. Do NOT let it dry on the floor. You have a buildup of product on the floor. The pine cleaner has a small amount of oil in it and it builds up over time. For a good glass cleaner- I would suggest ZEP glass cleaner. For daily cleaning- I would suggest white vinegar 1 part vinegar to 3 parts HOT water. It will sanitize, and also remove salt stains from the floor left by winter boots and dog footprints.

Only half of the wicks burns/ flame varies in height/ smokes !

Sounds like you have a wick that has burnt unevenly in the past and now there is not a good setting for an optimum burn. Either the wick needs to be trimmed even or you need a new wick.
