If the pump is running and it will not drain there may be an obstruction in the drain line like a small cherry pit or similar.  Disconnect the small drain hose at the inlet to the pump and check.
If the pump is not running it is a motor problem.

Front is worn and I can't read the words, anyone have a picture or something so I can tell how to work it?

The owner's manual is available as a PDF from Magic Chef: http://shared.whirlpoolcorp.com/product_literature/search_results.jsp?searchTerm=DU6500&siteCd=MCF&userType=Consumer .

This has the picture of the buttons and the dial on page 4. It isn't a great scanned copy but it will probably help. The buttons are all on/off in order for the Super Scrub, Temp Boost, and Heated Dry functions. The dial going clockwise allows for a delayed start, the Super Scrub Cycle, Normal or a Short Cycle. Then it enters the Wash, Rinse and Dry and Off. The last position is a Rinse and Hold option.

I hope this helps.

Magic Chef DISHWASHER - mODEL du4k, STOPPED DURING drain cycle

I am assuming that the pump motor is bad, and since the unit is at least 15 years old (just guessing), we decided to wash the dishes by hand till after the holidays!!

After wash cycle and rinsed cycle there were suds

Make certain you do not use dish soap when rinsing the dishes. Make sure you only use DISHWASHER soap when running the DW.
In fact, there is no need to rinse dishes. Remove visible scraps and put them in the DW. If it is a quality DW it will clean your dishes. Do not crowd the dishes in the DW. Most JennAir DW's are quality. Make sure the top rack can get washing action from the bottom spray arm. No pots or other water stopping utensils on the bottom rack.

Water won't go out of the dishwasher

Begin at your sink drain that the dishwasher drain hose connects to. Disconnect the hose and check both directions for anything plugging the connection.
Make sure the drain hose has not become "kinked"
(After you have emptied the water from the dishwasher) remove the lower spray arm and the filter in the sump area. Look for obstructions and remove all debris. Rinse the filter thoroughly and reassemble.
If you dishwasher has a timer on the front of the dishwasher that you can manually turn, start a quick cycle with no DW soap and empty.
Allow the water to run in for several seconds and then manually (slowly, gently) turn the timer knob until the DW should begin draining the DW. Listen closely for the sound of the pump motor running. Is water properly draining out of the dishwasher into the drain?
After you have done these things, please post back here and we can take the next steps. OK?

Seems my drain is plugged on my dishwasher it is the magic chef 4500b unit and i now have water all over my kitchen floor. i cant seem to find the product du4500b  so i entered the du2000 , either way...

Ok there are several problems this can be caused from...
1. there is usually a float device (I'm not sure about this model) that floats up and turns the water flow off when an appropriate amount of water is injected into the DW...sometimes these get gummed up with soap and gunk...look in the DW and see if such a device is present (usually front right side) if so you should be able to lift it and inspect it for gunk...if no gunk is present push the float up and down and listen for a "clicking" noise and make sure the float returns to its up position (spring loaded) and after you have evacuated the water turn the DW on and start to fill see if the water shuts off automatically after it has filled (this is most likely your problem).....
2. Another problem is that often if dishes are not rinsed and lots of food has accumulated around the bottom of the DW..it can obstruct water from draining and since the drain cycle is on a timer...all the water will not drain out and during the next cycle...(and usually only if the float is not functioning) it will overflow. So the odds are you are going to have a float problem.
3. Also in my 35 years of appliance repair I have seen maybe 2 DW drain lines clogged and usually it is right where they attach to the washer...due to the aforementioned food accumulation. Turn the washing machine timer through its cycle from wash to rinse or whatever is necessary to get it to drain...you should here a door or valve click open and water running into the garbage disposal side of the sink...if this is the case the drain line is good.

Hope this helps...get back to me if not....The Fang

DIshwasher doesn't drain or fill

Hello annie8866,
First off.. unplug power and then reapply power to it for a little while to see if a power reset will put it back in the proper sequence.. next, check inside the base for a drain inlet and a filter/screen and clean anything you see out of it.. Then try cycling it without dishes to see if it will run thru a cycle and drain properly.. Its ok to add a cup or two of white vinegar during the wash process to remove byproducts of the wash from the inner components.. Make sure the drain hose is not clogged or kinked up.. Try these things and get back to me if it is still misbehaving..
