Question about Xerox Phaser 8400DX Thermal Printer

Start Up red light error 37,004.40:35596

Powered on my Xerox Phaser 8400 this morning and it faults to a red light condition with the above error code. 37,004.40:35596 I would like to fix this myself if possible. Thank you Mark MacKenzie

37,004.4x - PEST_FAULT_RESERVOIR0_HEATER_DISCONNECT
PEST - Reservoir0 Disconnect Reservoir0 is not drawing the expected power from the supply.
1. Run the printhead Reservoir Heater test.
2. Verify printhead wiring.
Entering Service Diagnostics by Rebooting the Printer:
1.
Turn the printer power OFF.
2. Press and hold the Back and Info buttons.
3. Turn the printer power ON while continuing to hold the Back and Info buttons
for approximately 30 seconds until the front panel indicates Diagnostic Menu.
Service Diagnostic Front Panel Button Descriptions
Button Function
BACK
Returns to the prior higher level menu structure, if available. Cancels the display
of test results on the front panel.
If help text is displayed on the front panel, pressing BACK will restore the current
menu item and remove the help text.
CANCEL Cancels certain functions of the printer.
INFO Provides help information, if available.
Press any key to advance through the help text.
UP Scrolls up one menu item within a menu list. This control does not ‘wrap’.
Used to increment data in tests requiring user input.
DOWN Scrolls down one menu item within test results.
This control does not ‘wrap’.
OK Enters the highlighted menu. Executes the current test item.
NOTE: Pressing any key may cause an abort if allowed by the test being performed. A power
cycle is used to arbitrarily stop a test.
Hidden Service Menu
The Hidden Service Menu provides access to a large group of information pages and
functions usable for diagnosing and correcting printer malfunctions and accessing
special features. Display the Hidden Service Menu as follows:
1. Press OK and Cancel buttons at the same time to display the Service Tools
Menu.
2. With the cursor at the top of the Service Tools Menu, press both the Up Arrow
and Down Arrow buttons to display the Hidden Service Menu.

You may have to call a certified Xerox pro to service this printer. Hope this helps you.

That is a Jet Heat error. Most likely a bad print head. Could be the electronics module.
Either the print head heater has failed, or the supply voltage to the print head heater.
Either one is very expensive to replace.

The printer has encountered an error state without the benefit of a code. Turn the printer off for 30 seconds, then power back on.

Hi i have phaser 8560, it gives me a error 09,038,46:62248, plese who can solve me the problem.

The onlty thing I can find close to this is.
Acording to the manual its a ink loader error like your loading the wrong type of ink like the puzzles pieces arent matching and hitting the sensor flags right. Yours by the 8 is referring to the black ink. Anyway go to troubleshooting on the control panel. then to service tools. when in service tools press and hold the up arrow while still pressing the up arrow press the down arrow. the display should say hidden menus. go to diagnostic mode press enter go to funtion menu. then go to clear ISC fault and enter. ISC=ink stick count fault. I hope that helps. Just to let you know Ive had nothing but problems with third party ink and once its in the system its hard to get out so I would watch what im doing with my expensive equipment

The majority of the time that code means the print head has failed.
That is a print head heater error.
You can find some places that sell print heads for about $150 , you would have to google the model number for that.
Xerox would charge $750 for a new print head, uninstalled.

37,004.40: PEST - Printhead Reservoir 0 disconnect. Reservoir 0 is not drawing
the expected power from the supply.

One of the printhead cables may have come partially unplugged. Also, an ink spill on the circuit board could lead to this problem.

That is a print head tilt error. Either the print head pivot block is contaminated with ink or the wiper blade is tacked to the print head.
Let me know if you want to try to resolve it yourself, I will send you directions.

Xerox phaser 8400 error code


That code is a jet heater code.The most likely problem is a bad print head, the second most likely bad item is the electronics module that supplies the 40-50 volt source to the print head heater.

I have the same problem. Xerox says they need to send someone out and can not tell me what this code means.

Prior to the error I have having light streaking on the page. Took everything apart and cleaned and it worked OK for 2 days then returned to streaks.

If anyone knows what to look for please offer assistance.

Xerox printer error code (04,025.46)


This is a print head position issue.

TRY FIRST (Solutions without parts):
1. Check that the wipe mechanism has homed. 2. Check the printhead position and verify that it has initialized properly / manually home the printhead and power cycle the printers power and check for the error to return. If not then the error was most likely due to non-process function (something out of sequence).
