Clean all the filters if this doesn't help then check for blockages at head, hose and entrance to collection chamber

I have a model 90 with same problem -- after the obvious problems or blockages were elimated and I noted that the suction was fine without the hose on I concluded that the hose was leaking air badly-- to test this theory i wound the woven fabric type hose with duck tape and the problem was solved-- very ungly hose now and somewhat stiffer, but full suction has returned.

Suction/Brush not working

Hi there SmartAlec from NelsonVacuums.com.au here.
There are a couple of common reasons that your electrolux vacuum cleaner would appear to have lost it's suction. The first and most common is that it has actually broken a belt. If the belt is broken the brushes won't spin and it will not pick up dirt. It is easy to test simply turn the vacuum on, release the handle (as if you were about to vacuum carpet) and lift up the head and see if the brushes are spinning. If not i can supply you with a new belt.
If the brushes are spinning then your next most likely cause is that there is a blockage in the vacuum somewhere. Test this by turning machine on and checking the suction at the hose (as if your were going to vacuum the couch) if it is poor then remove hose and fish out blockage. If it is ok you may have a blockage between hose and the brush of the vacuum.
If it is neither of these problems i can trouble shoot over the phone if you live in Australia 0269215200 or by email nelsonvacuums@netspace.net.au
Happy Vacuuming.. :)

No suction but good exhaust flow

This sounds like you have a loose pipe connection somewhere in your system. Physically check all connections. If you can't find anything suspicious, call a vac repair man that specialies in central vac repair. Joe

NO SUCTION

If you have no suction, there are only a couple of things that could cause it. As you have checked for blockage, and changed your filters, you may have a vacuum motor with bad bearings, or broken fan blades (inside/on the vacuum motor). Either symptom points towards a vacuum motor being bad and needing replaced.

Vacum won't ****

Do you have good suction right out of the canister without the hose attached? If so, AND your hose isn't plugged, you must have a pretty good sized hole somewhere in the hose. If you don't have suction at the canister, pull the filter cover off the top-back of the machine and remove the filter. This is where all of the air that the machine pulls in is exhausted. If something is plugged here, it will greatly reduce your suction. If you still haven't found the problem, you could have a problem with the fan assembly on the motor. But usually this is accompanied by some noise from the motor, but not always. Good Luck!!

Main powerhead useless

Make sure that the vacuum hole in the head unit, or the wand, or the hose is not blocked. You may also want to check the bag to make sure that the inlet hole is not blocked. The only reason for spitting things back out is that the suction is not working properly...

Some vacuums come with a blow part as well as a suction port. You will just have to find one of those, Rexair and electrolux is a couple of them that have both ports, but even those, not all models come that way.
