How to replace choke lever

Choke lever broken? Whats the problem?

change primer bulb if old and floppy --clean repair or replace carb and air filter

you just have to put some oil on the chain not any oil take some oil on your car and put it an the chain it would work GOOD LUCK

remove the cable and make or buy a new one ( depending on the fittings could use a pushbike brake cable and solder )

Replace cable.

there is a little pin in the very back of the choke lever you push that out and pul the old lever of and put the new lever in its place and put the pin back in

It is not listed as a replacement part on the carburetor. You would have to remove the choke plate, and the choke shaft from the carburetor. These parts are press-fitted into the carb housing and the choke lever is also press fitted onto the choke plate shaft.

Without much other information of what has been done, I would start with the choke system. The choke cable may be detached or far out of adjustment. With a helper see if you can watch the choke cable move the choke lever on the carbs when you move the choke lever to full choke. Cables do break and or stretch. If that is the case then reconnect, replace, or adjust as necessary. If the choke lever and carb choke system is moving correctly then the problem may be in the carburators themselves.

hi, this is the best way to replace the choke cable, first remove the riders seat, 2 alun key bolts at the rear of the seat turn up the corners of the seat and you will find the bolts,
undo the tank fiking screws at the front of the tank and then prop up the fuel tank , remove the air box by undoing the 10mm bolt in the front of the airbox, then undo the clip/clips holding the airbox rubbers to the carburetors, lift of the airbox, now you will see the carburettors and the location of the choke cable sliding mechanisam,

undo from the handlebar the left hand switch unit and pull the 2 halfs apart you will then be able to remove the nipple of the old cable from the opperating lever, replace the new cable using a small amount of grease on the new nipple,then thread the new cable through the frame following the exact same route as the old cable and connect it to the carbs and check the opperation of the choke lever, pulling it on and off making sure when the choke is off that you have a small amount of frree play in your cable and the lever on the carb end is all the way home, if you are happy you havereplaced the control cable correctly, you can then reasemble the airbox, lower the tank and replace the seat, finaly recheck the operation of the controls before riding the machine on the road, regards, paul
