Well other people are complaining about 5 to 30 minutes until their gas over lights up, now 30 seconds doesn't seem that much of a problem to me. But sure.

possible reasons for the delay could be low on gas, defective igniter. it could also be a bad thermostat or the safety valve that prevents accidental gas flow is defective. Lastly the selector switch.

GAS TO STOVE WAS TURNED OFF FOR COST SAVINGS BECAUSE NOT USED. OVEN PILOT LIGHTS WON'T LIGHT CAN'T SEE WHERE HOLE FOR LIGHT IS SO TO BE CLEANED??IT LOOKS LIKE A BLEEDER VALVE FOR BRAKS IS HOLE AT...

To light those pitots remove oven floor& access panel below the doors, for each oven will be a gas valve inside of the panel below the doors and has a red button. push that red button, light pilot inside of oven near the main burner, hold red button for 30 seconds and releas.Pilot should be on,repeat for other oven. If pilots go out after red button was held down for 30 seconds the part called the thermocoupler will need to be replaced

My troybuilt yard pony riding lawnmower will start with the choke fully open and then dies immediatly when you take the choke off. It will only start and run with the choke fully open, but dies after 20-30...

Do you mean that you can start it normally using the choke (that would be choke CLOSED), but then it dies immediately when you move it to run (that would be choke OPEN)? And if you leave the choke in the starting position that it dies after 20-30 seconds?----- If I have that all right, then you definitely have a restriction in the gas supply. Drain all of the gas from the mower and don't use any old gas. If you have any more old gas (from last season) don't use it. If this mower has a gas filter, replace it. Put just a little fresh gas in the tank plus a little of the cleaner. Start it up, do that a few times if needed. Use a fuel additive such as Sea Foam to keep the gas from gumming up so fast.

Kitchenaid gas oven very slow to start - can be 5 - 10 minutes before I hear it kick on. For a while I could get it to start by turning on a gas burner, but that is 100% effective. Any suggestions? Also...

Replace your ignitor, this is a very common problem. As the ignitor gets older, it gets weaker. When it gets weaker, it usually starts out by not giving good temps in the oven, then it starts to take longer and longer before it lights the oven burner, then it stops lighting the burner completely. A good ignitor heats up fast, allows the current to flow through to the gas valve, opens the gas valve and lights the oven burner within 30 to 50 seconds. When you order your ignitor ask if their is a cheaper generic ignitor for this model. Their can be a huge price difference in some units. You can also have a bad sensor, control board, gas valve, or wiring problem, however for the last 15 or so years every job I have done with your problem has been an ignitor. My gas oven will not heat up above 300 degrees and

You may have 2 problems.
One. The temperature sensor could be bad. You can remove the temperature sensor and check it with a ohm meter. It should read 1050 to 1150 ohms. If not. It is bad.
Two. The glowbar ignitor could be bad and not igniting the gas safety valve.Open the bottom drawer of the oven and set the oven to bake. The burner should light in 60 seconds or less. Re-light should be about 30 seconds or less.
If it takes longer the ignitor is bad.

Oven takes 5 minutes to come on (ignite).

Replaced the igniter. The parts guy told me that the amperage changes with age and use; thus the igniter still glows, but it takes much longer to operate the gas valve with the reduced amperage. Cost - $70.14

Gas oven not keeping temp consistant

Hi. this is a failing oven temp sensor. the sensor probe is not responding to the oven control. this will cause erratic temps in this oven. it will also damage the control board if the sensor isn't replaced soon.

Slow oven lighting....bakes for 20 minutes than stops heating

Hi, The oven should ignite within 20 to 30 seconds. The most common problem is that the ignitor gets weak and will not open the gas valve like it should. This would be my first part to change.

I just cleaned by hand by magic chef wall oven and now I can't

Pilotless ignition means that a hot surface ignitor lights the oven burner. It does take a little bit of time to light the burner. Maybe 30 seconds. If you want to make sure it lights take the bottom panel out from the oven and observe the hot surface glow and the burners light. No real danger as the gas valve will only open after the hot surface ignitor has satisfied the gas valve. Let me know how it goes. ken
