Question about Epson PictureMate Photo Printer

1 Answer

Printer is not printing clearly even with brand new cartridge

I have an Epson PictureMate Personal Photolab PM260. All of a sudden the pictures came out with too much red and faded out the more I tried to print. I replaced the cartridge with a new one and it did the same thing. What do you recommend I do to repair the problem? Thank you, Gena Gilbert, BROKER/OWNER/REALTOR

My PM 260 has been acting up by only printing only about 1" of the paper and then it will stop feeding the paper. It will eject the paper only if I exit from the computer or turn off the power on the printer and then turn it back to on. I already updated the driver (13488). Should I have it looked at by an Epson certified repair or just buy another one?

How to clean printhead pm260?

Note: If you see a Print Pack low message on the photo viewer, you may not be able to clean the print head until you replace the Print Pack.

  1. Load paper in PictureMate so you can print a nozzle check pattern after cleaning the print head.
  2. Press Menu.
  3. Press the arrow buttons to select Maintenance and press OK.
  4. Press the arrow buttons to select Auto Cleaning and press OK.
  5. Press OK again to clean the print head. Cleaning takes about 60 seconds. PictureMate makes some noise and you see an Auto Cleaning message.
When cleaning is complete, PictureMate prints a nozzle check pattern.
  6. Check the pattern to see if there are any gaps in the lines.
  7. Do one of the following:
    • If there are no gaps, Press OK.
    • If there are gaps, Press the Back button.
  8. Follow the instructions on the screen to clean the print head, check the nozzles, and repeat the process as necessary.
If you don't see any improvement after cleaning the print head up to 4 times, turn off the product and wait at least 6 hours. Then try cleaning the print head again. If quality still does not improve, one of the ink cartridges may be old or damaged and needs to be replaced.

I have an Epson PM260 and it prints but with lines. I have done an auto clean at least 10-12 times and still getting lines. I have a brand new ink cartridge as well and it already says it's low? How do...

Update the printer drivers by downloading them and installing here:http://www.epson.com/cgi-bin/Store/support/supDetail.jsp?oid=90903&infoType=DownloadsDo an auto clean after that. Also look for "cartridge alignment" if available. If that doesn't work, check that the cartridge is installed properly.Otherwise, return to the manufacturer. Please leave a good rating!

Can you Help me unclog my nozzle? Epson Picturemate PM240. Head cleaning 3x not successful: no blue ink at all. Print cartridge is brand new and showing 100% full. It tells me to replace the print...

Inkjet printers need to be used frequently to prevent inkdrying out in the print head nozzles.
If the print head cleaning maintenance routine does not clear the blockages, then print head needs replacing, but it may be expensive.
It may be more cost effective to buy a later model and better printer thanreplace the print head.

All my picture from my Epson Picturemate personal photo printer are coming out pink. I have brought a new cartridge and it is still coming out pink. Why??

Hi!
You need to run a Head Cleaning cycle so printer can get rid of the old ink from your previous cartridge. Try running it from maintenance for at least twice or try printing pictures in between cleaning cycles.
Hope this helps.

Even with a new cartridge it says empty cartridge and won't print

are you using a generic ink cartridge? and just for added information, picturemate cartridges or so some epson inks do have expiration dates, pls check because if you have them stored for quite sometime the tendency is that the inks will harden up. then it will not distribute ink to your nozzle.

another thing troubleshooting steps, have you tried to perform a cleaning cycle? try to do it for about 4 or 5 times. then try to print. pls be advised that it will take in a certain amount of inks to clear the cloggs and force it out.

or before installation of the cartridge, did you shake them? for about 5 times then insert it back
