In the back bottom. The drain is in the back inside and leads down to a heating pan which evaporates the water.

Water dispenser just stopped working. Ice dispenser still works and the refrigerator has a new filter

two possibilities

1) the water valve is defective it has one inlet from the house plumbing, two outlets, one for i/m one for water dispenser

2) the reservior that chills the water is frozen, it is located behind the lower crisper drawers in the ref. to see if its frozen remove crispers and shelves and tap on it , if hollow sounding it's not froze if solid sounding its froze. to thaw it turn off unit for at least a hour

Kenmore side by side: ice maker works...ice

Probably a broken plastic tube from the solenoid valve to the water outlet tube. It will stay dry until you try to get water then it may take a few days to dry out.

The water pipes rattle violently in the beginning of the cycle.

My Kenmore 16464 dishwasher caused a buzz in the water pipes at the start of the cycle that I thought was just water hammer. It turned out to be a bad water inlet valve on the dishwasher that has water hoses (inlet and outlet) attached plus has an electrical connector. It is located near the front left underneath the tub. I pulled the dishwaher out and replaced it and all is quiet again. - Jim

Inlet bezel located in l/hand outer side of dishwasher is leaking can't get it off the dishwasher to see if it is it or the gasket

The inlet/outlet bezels are defective. If you run the dishwasher wthout them in place, you get water in the drawer door and all over the floor too. The plastic disintegrates. It's a problem that Kenmore/Sears needs to fix asap!

Kenmore refrigerator: water outlet by ice outlet

HI. this will occur if the inlet valve assembly is experiencing issues, within the solenoid structure. In some cases, debris will build up, in return, not allowing the solenoid to completely close, when not in use(the solenoid can also fail as well). This will cause a slow drip, or a leaky dispenser spout.

The water inlet valve is located behind your refrigerator. Find the water supply line coming into the valve and turn it off at the source (typically under the sink). Disconnect the supply line. Remove the screws that secure the inlet valve in place.

The water inlet valve is connected by two wires. Label the wire placement on the water inlet valve before disconnecting the wires. The wires are connected to the terminals with slip on connectors

Firmly pull the connectors off of the terminals (do not pull on the wire). You may need to use a pair of needle-nose pliers to remove the connectors. Inspect the connectors and the terminals for corrosion. If the connectors are corroded they should be replaced.

Inspect the filter screen where the supply line connects. Remove any debris or deposits that may have built up using a toothbrush or warm running water. If you cannot clear the clog, it will be necessary to replace the valve (the filter is not removable on most inlet valves).

Test the water inlet valve for continuity using a multimeter. Set the multimeter to the ohms setting X100 (if available, otherwise use the nearest ohm setting). Place a probe on each terminal. The multimeter should display a reading of 200 to 500 ohms. Close inspection of the inlet valve and especially the coil may reveal the exact ohm resistance rating to test for. If the water inlet valve does not pass this test, it should be replaced.

Changed the water filter on my Kenmore 596 50692000 model but now I there is no water flow. I have changed the filter before without a problem. What could be wrong. Someone mentioned that the line might...

You have clogged the water inlet solenoid valve. It is located in the water line and will need to be taken apart and cleaned or replaced. When you change a water filter you always need to bleed it into a bucket before attaching the outlet end to the water line, to evacuate all the carbon impurities.
