It looks like you have a leaking bearing in your machine all the machine will have to be taken apart to replace the bearing which is a very big job the best of luck

Sounds like the bearing for the drum is breaking up, if it's leaving a black/dark grey grease like marks on the clothing, then thats probably it, to check, open the door and check for play by wiggling the drum.
If there is a lot of movement, or a grinding noise if you spin the drum by hand, then thats the problem.

During spin cycle the washer makes a loud thumping noise. Not a clanging/sharp noise. When I manually turn drum it sounds like something is loose inside. Like a ball may sound inside drum as it turns.

Is it a front loader? You may have something stuck between the tubs or it may be a broken "paddle" One of the plastic baffles that move the clothes around in the tub. they should all be tightly against the tub.

Wfw8300sw01 - makes loud noise sounds during spin

The bearings have collapesd due to the seal going faulty. If bearings can be accessed to from the outside, it is possible you could do the repair. If big bearing and seal is accessed from the inside, suggest tech. do it as it gets dirty and a lot more complex.

My kenmore HE 2 Plus washing machine makes a loud grinding noise when it enters the pre-wash/wash cycle (worse on this cycle) then continues on through the rest of the cycles. Washer fills, rinses, spins...

Unfortunately, I don't think you will be able to fix this issue, some mechanical parts are breaking. If your appliance still under warranty, you may need to contact the appliance manufacturer for assistance. This kind of repair can be expensive and is difficult enough so a service technician may need to fix it.
