Question about Sony Walkman NWZ-S616F MP3 Player

1 Answer

Mp3 will not connect with my computer

My mp3 player will not connect with my computer so i can charge it and manage my songs. i purchased a new usb cord and it still will not work. it is not the usb port on my computer because other items work. i have tried resetting the mp3 player several times. model number nwz-s615f My Sony Walkman NWZ-S616F will not connect to my computer. The only way I can get it to charge is by plugging it into a wall charger, but I can't get my computer to recognize it, so I can't switch out my music. I'm having the same problem with my Sony Walkman Video NWZ-S616F! I've tried all 3 of the USB ports on my computer, but none of them will connect my Walkman to the computer. The Walkman turns on when I connect the two, but it won't charge and the computer doesn't recognize my Walkman.

SOURCE: remove write protection on a walkman nwz-s616f

I had the same problem after using this product for a month, suddenly it showed the warning of write protection.

I even contacted the sony customer center but to no avail. their answer was of no help at all. so here is what i did to make it work: 1) First install "QuickTime version 7.2" or later (you can download it from torrent if you are unable to register it, i.e. with a crack) 2) Then install "Windows Media Player 11 " (you can download it from torrent if you are unable to validate it, i.e. if WinXP not original) 3) Now install "Media Manager for WALKMAN" (a compatible software provided by the sony company to interact or communicate with the walkman), freely available for you to download at sony's website.
After the installation, connect the walkman to your computer. Now it should easily add or delete data from you walkman using this software or without it as well.

Hello,

Scroll on next page to get to Support information for Sansa e200 series:

See the link Sansa player not recognized by the computer:
http://kb.sandisk.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/42
and follow up the instructions.
1. Use the original cable and try more USB ports.
2. Let the player charge, connecting the player directly to the computer,
preferred at the back side of the computer.
3. Check the device manager in the computer management for the player running with a functional driver without "yellow" marks, question mark or note of exclamation.

When connecting a brand new player as mentioned in the top page, scroll on the page to:

I cant get my coby mp 815 to pull up its music manager on my new computer, I pluged it in, but it just plays whats already loaded on it? whats the music manager?

If I was you I would use either Windows Media Player or Drag and Drop your files to your player. If you choose to use Windows Media Player you will have the same functions that you will have with the coby music manager. Here is the following ways to add music and files to your player if you choose the above ways to add music:

**Drag and Drop**
Connect your MP3 player to the computer. Some MP3 players connect directly to a USB port, while others connect to a USB port by way of a specific USB connector that comes with the MP3 player. Open the folder on the computer that contains the music files you want to transfer. This is usually the "My Music" folder; available from the "Start" menu, but it can be any folder where you save your music files. Scroll down to the song you want to transfer to the MP3 player. Right-click on the title. When the options are displayed, click on "Send To." Scroll down the "Send To" options and select your MP3 player. This can be listed as your MP3 player's name or as "Removable Drive." Click on this selection. Continue this process until you have transferred all songs that you want to your MP3 player.
--**Windows Media Player**--
If you have a large playlist to transfer, you may prefer to do it from your media player, such as Windows Media Player. Once your MP3 player is connected to the computer, open Windows Media Player. Click on the "Sync Music" tab. Drag songs that you want from your Windows Media Library over to the "Sync Music" column to create a playlist. Click the "Begin Sync" tab at the bottom once you have all of the songs on your playlist. This action will sync all of the songs to your MP3 player with one click. Disconnect your device once songs have been transferred by clicking on the "Safely Remove Hardware" icon in the bottom-right side of the desktop tray.

Mp3 will not connect with my computer

I'm pretty sure I fixed a similar problem. Go to your device manager on your PC and uninstall the walkman driver. After this is complete just plug the walkman back into you Pc and the plug and play will download the driver again. This worked for me. My operating system is Windows vista.

Connection

Try changing the USB connection from MTP to MSC in the Settings>USB Mode>. If this still doesn't work. Plug in the device. go to Control Panel on your computer. From there go to Administrative tools. Then to Computer Management. My Computer>Control Panel>Administrative tools>Computer Management> Device Manager. The device manager is located on the left side menu. Click on the device manager and a list of components and what-not will appear on the right side of this menu. If you see under the Portable Devices component, a Device with a "!" inside a yellow circle, then you did not change the USB connection. If it was changed then you should see the Sansa e250 drivers under the drivers component. This means your computer recognizes the device and you should be able to do what you want with it.
