Question about D-Link RangeBooster G WBR-2310 Wireless Router (WBR2310)
I would like to set a password so just my family can use the internet and so that what we use and send is secure.
LOL. To understand how wireless works, you need to do some extra reading. It depends on what your circumstances are, but I live in a cul-de-sac (French for dead end street) and I use just enough to keep the neighbors out of my system. Sure, the kid next door might get enough smarts to crack into my network someday, but I'll take my chances.
The simplest is to not publish the SSID. Then comes WEP, then comes WPA, which the D-Link and other wireless devices may not support, then MAC address filtering.
Each is fairly easy to set up, but the key is to do something and change passwords away from admin and password.
