OK for your WPA you can check the security key by accessing the router http://192.168.1.1 .. password is by default "admin" and username is blank...go to the "wireless" tab and check the ssid...under "wireless security" check the security key...if you have "wep" check the numbers in "key 1"....
now make sure that you connect to your own ssid and type the correct key...
and you are right , you need wlan to connect to the internet wirelessly...however , first make sure that you have internet working through the router..if not you will have to configure the router and for that you a computer connected to the router...

As for your IP address simple use this site http://www.ip-adress.com/ should be everything you need

How to change my password

If by "password" you mean the access code one uses to gain access to your wireless network, first you must log into the router. This is usually done by opening a browser (any will do) and typing "http://192.168.0.1/" into the address bar. You should get a log in screen; the default administrator account is usually "Administrator" or "Admin" and the default password is usually blank. From there, follow the menu items for either "wireless" or "security" until you find the WPA2-PSK Passphrase, WPA Password, (or something similar) and enter the new password you would like to use. WARNING: If you do this from a wireless device, you will lose connectivity as soon as you change the password because the router will reset and the new password will become active. It's always best to do this sort of thing from a computer physically connected to the router.

I am not able to access my yahoo account, showing error code#1, please advise.

1. Clear your cookies and temporary internet files (AKA cache), exit from the browser, then restart the browser.

2. If you are a home user and do not pay for a static IP address, get a different dynamic IP address; do
[Start] > [Run] > cmd > ipconfig
{{write down the IP address, then disconnect from the Internet with}}
ipconfig /release
{{wait a few minutes and then reconnect with}}
ipconfig / renew
{{compare the new IP address to the old to make sure your IP address changed, then try again}}

If you are an office user, try someone else's PC which will have a different IP address.

3. Log into Yahoo through a different country's server. I.e. if you usually log into Yahoo via http://login.yahoo.com/ or http://mail.yahoo.com/ then try http://login.korea.yahoo.com/ or http://nz.yahoo.com/

4. Access your Yahoo mailbox via http://wap.oa.yahoo.com/

5. Use a different browser. Use Firefox (free download from mozilla.com) if you normally use IE or Safari.

6. If you have a web accelerator (mostly an affliction of dial-up users) then try turning it off.

7. If you use a proxy server (mostly a corporate user thing) then try turning it off.

How to restrict usage of my internet via belkin 54 g router gateway by my neighbours when they see my wireless connection,I mean how do I create a user name and a password where do i go step by step to do...

Follow directions in the manual to access the setup program built in to the router. This is usually done by using your web browser and going to an address like http://192.168.1.1 or whatever adress works with your router. After logging to the router, complete the Wireless setup. I prefer the WPA=PSK[TKIP] as it is more user-friendly on passwords. After this process is complete, you will need to use wnatever passphrase you choose to gain access to your router. You will need login info from your Owners Manual to get to the router's Admin program.

wpa key is the security code on the router .........whoever set the router up will be able to give you that code (parents/roomate or whatever) if it is your own router you can log into the router and turn the security off or reset the WPA key ....if you have any other questions let me know

Cant connect my ps3 to wireless internet

you can auto config your network settings on the ps3, make sure you see your wiresless network, if you dont your router is not broadcasting its ssid and you need to activate it by logging into your router from a pc ( in a browser go to "192.168.1.1", username is "admin" password ia "admin" or nothing, unless you set up otherwise)

If you dont remember your WEP/WPA code you can find it under "wireless" then "security" in the router once you have gained access as mentioned above.

If all of above is ok then check your IP on your ps3 in settings, network status (i think havent done it in a while) make note of it and go back to the router as mentioned above. click applications and gaming then dmz, enable dmz and type in the ps3 ip, save settings and perform a 30 second reboot to the router (unplug it for 30 seconds) all should be good!

one last note if you have configured everything and you cant connect or it takes ages to do anything, you may need to reposition the router, mine is on the otherside of the room and is working great =p
