    ginko!

tnx a lot fr advice but the problem was other, i cud find in the net:

"My Eee PC has a camera, but the camera device can not be found in the device manager of Windows XP. I also can't find the camera driver in the support DVD. How can I solve the problem?

The camera device is disabled as default in BIOS.
To make the camera work, the user should set the camera as "enable" in BIOS in the following steps:
Upon booting, press "F2" to enter BIOS setting==>[Advanced]==>set "OS Installation" as "finished"==>[Onboard Device]==>Set "Camera" as "enable"==>press "F10" to save the setting.
By the way, the camera driver for Windows XP is contained in the Windows XP SP2, so it is not available in the support DVD."

anyway tnx a lot! i solved the problem!

    best regards, Alexander.

Download and reinstall camera drivers here:

First download the camera driver here.

If you are using Windows xp , also download the UVC driver update from http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/deta … laylang=en.

The 2nd link is used only if you have an older XP version. If it says that the system is newer then the update, then you do not need the update.

First, check to make sure that the webcam is enabled in the Bios. Once this verified (and if you do not have the driver installed), go to forum.eeeuser.com and search for the webcam driver for your model.

Web cam
The Asus Eee PC comes with a built-in 0.3 megapixel web camera that works quite well. Once you enable it that is. For whatever reason the camera was by default turned off in the BIOS and we had to go in and enable it for the camera to work. For something that dubs itself as "Easy to work, Easy to play, Easy to learn" that's not exactly something you'd expect. We don't think grandma will figure that part out on her own.

Webcam driver

Some times BIOS disable webcam after updating it.

To enable it do the followings:

1. Restart your Eee PC.
2. Press F2 while booting (to enter BIOS sittings)
3. Go to "advanced" tab (by pressing right arrow)
4. Select "Onboard Device Configuration" (by pressing down arrow)
5. From there you can find if "Onboard Camera" is enabled or not.
6. If not, just press enter to pick "Enabled"

I hope that would help :-)
