Question about Acer Aspire T180-EA350M (AST180EA350M) PC Desktop

NEED HELP FROM ANY EXPERT OUT THERE! MAKE MY WELCOME SCREEN WORK!

HELLO ANY COMPUTER EXPERTS OUT THERE!!! PLEASE HELP ME!! I NEED TO UNINSTALL MY CLIENT FOR NETWARE OR ANY NETWORK CLIENT IN MY "WINDOWS XP"--SO THAT I CAN GET MY WELCOME SCREEN AND FAST USER SWITCHING BACK!! I GOT SOME ADVICES FROM SOMEONE ALREADY--BUT THEN I GOT STUCK ON SOMETHING ELSE... THE ADVICES I GOT FROM HIM WERE: You must uninstall client services for Netware.
1) Start->settings->control panel->network connections.
For each network connection listed:
Right click and select properties.
Highlight the Client for Netware entry
Click Uninstall.
2) Once complete, go into the User control panel applet and you should be able to set the Welcome screen and fast user switch options.

WELL I AM STILL LOST AND CONFUSED ON STEP 1--- I CLICKED ON "CONTROL PANEL" AND THEN I CLICKED ON "NETWORK AND INTERNET CONNECTIONS" AND THEN I CLICKED ON "NETWORK CONNECTIONS" NOW I AM IN THE "NETWORK CONNECTION AREA" (LAN OR HIGH SPEED INTERNET) AND I SEE 2 MONITORS ICONS: ONE OF IT SAYS: LOCAL AREA CONNECTION ---CONNECTED, FIREWALLED GENERIC MARVELL YUKON CHIPSET BASE...**** THE OTHER ONE SAYS: 1394 CONNECTION ---CONNECTED, FIREWALLED 1394 NET ADAPTER.... *************** AM I EVEN IN THE RIGHT PLACE?? IF YES--WHICH ONE OF THESE DO I PICK TO UNINSTALL?? WILL I SOMEHOW RUIN MY DSL INTERNET CONNECTION??


PLEASE HELP ANYONE OUT THERE!!!!

Hi, you need to right click on your local area connection, then go to properties and uninstall the protocol from there.

Turn the Welcome screen on or off It sounds as if you accidentally turned off the welcome screen. Here's how to turn that function on and off:



To turn the Welcome screen on or off
You must have a computer administrator account on a computer that is a member of a workgroup or is a stand-alone computer to turn on or turn off the Use the Welcome screen feature. Logging on at the Welcome screen is not available on computers that are members of a network domain.
  1. Open shortcutcold.gifUser Accounts in Control Panel.
  2. Click Change the way users log on or off.
  3. Do one of the following:
    • To specify that users log on to the computer using the Welcome screen, select the Use the Welcome screen check box. A user logs on to the computer by clicking his or her user account name on the Welcome screen. If a password is assigned to the account, the user is prompted to type it.
    • To specify that users log on to the computer without using the Welcome screen, clear the Use the Welcome screen check box. The Welcome screen will no longer appear when you start the computer. To log on to the computer, type your user name (and password, if you have one) in the standard Log On to Windows dialog box.
