Screen goes blank when Google Earth globe starts zooming in

Starting up Google Earth, my brandnew ATI Asus A9550 graphic card crashes once the earth globe start zooming in. I have the latest driver. The computer itself does not crash, but the screen goes blank and I get a message saying "No Signal"

Are you running Google Earth with GPl or DirectX? Make sure you have DirectX installed (free from Microsoft) if you are using DirectX. Even Google says GPL is slower and not as good as DirectX.

What's the correct AGP slot voltage for the ASUS A9550 video card

Searched further on Google and other forums, found a solution (for free):

ASUS A9550 128MB Video card is definitely a 1.5V card, and therefore IS compatible with my slot.

Another important advice I learnt from this:

FIXYA is VERY GREEDY! They only want to be paid, even for a very easy question like this.

I can't trust people that greedy, I feel that they would offer me their Premium service for a solution, even if I asked "what time is it" or "what is your name".

LEAVE THEM ALONE, that's the important advice I can give to you all.

I computer crashes when I try to open Google Earth

It's your graphics chip and memory I'm worried about and whether you have shared graphics memory coming out of that 1.49GB, since you "meet" the Display Requirements and really should exceed them for some functions of Google Earth.
Upgrade your graphics board, cause you may just be squeaking by with only 32MB, as 64, 128, 256, and 512MB have been de rigeur for years now.

Does my graphic card need renewing ?

I would try uninstalling it, make sure all registry keys are deleted,
and reinstall, as for you graph card slot agp,,most anything needs pci-e,,you should look at a system or motherboard with pci-e.
With amd and intel fighting, a good new one that is 5 times faster
is very cheep. Cyberpower has a desktop cpu-amd x2,,5000 with pci-e and ati 2100 graph card with vista for around 428.00
This is a fast pc,, If you want core 2 duo it is over 500.00
You can look at dell,,,I just hate there motherboards.
I only run ASUS boards.

Grafics card driver for google earth

Hello there.

You have not told us which graphics card you own. For ATI/AMD graphics cards or devices you would goto http://ati.amd.com/support/driver.html

For Nvidia graphics drivers you would need to goto http://www.nvidia.com/Download/index.aspx?lang=en-us

If you aren't sure then post back and tell us which card you own and we will give you the correct drivers.

Hope this helps.
