When trying to choose an option it keeps scrolling all the way down to the last option. if u try to go up and just takes u back down again. Same here. I am also having odd PS button issues with my main controller, a DS3. Thinking the controller was sending a bad signal, I unplugged it's battery, but the original SIXAXIS still locks the system into a downward/rightward scroll. The BT remote does not have this problem.
I have face the the same problem with my ps2 conttroler. In my case it was the problem with the analog (the sticks). May be the spring of your left analog is broken is broken. Do not try to open it yourself and fix, it can disturb the wiring of the remote. Take it to your local ps repair shop or you will have to buy a new one
