You said "no i unpluged everything completley and waited a few hours just incase it was still wet"

Please say you didn't use a liquid to clean inside the computer.

If so,It's probably toasted

You should have only cleaned it with compressed air,But,Try this,If this don't work, then you burnt something on the mother board out.

Unplug the power from the back of the computer and hold the power button for 30-45 seconds and you should see the power light come on and fade out, once this has happened, plug the cord back in and try to start the computer again.

The one on the front is the one you want to watch,The back one fades without the power button being pushed.

Sounds like you have either unhooked something while cleaning it,Or you fried the mother board with the damp rag.

See if you can post a picture of the connector on the motor board that you are talking about.

My computer seems to have developed some kind of allergy towards working properly. I use an AMD processor, 3GB of RAM. My hard drive, a Hitachi 250GB, makes clicking sounds whenever I turn my PC on. This...

Hi there,

Thanks for giving enough information to get an intelligent response.

1. You quite likey could have gotten a virus from the flash drive if your friend downloaded a movie from a "pirate" type site or; simply didn't know hot or took the time to scan the file before giving it to you.

So, here's how you diagnose and deal with this.

1. With your computer off, press the start button and then immediately begin repeatedly hitting the F8 button until you are greeted with a window in black background with white writing and are given choices for entering different types of "Safe Mode"
2. Choose (using the up and down arrows on the keyboard) "Safe Mode with Networking"
This is going to allow you to enter your computer with only its most basic drivers but connect to the internet.
3. Once you see you are at your Desktop (don't worry that the graphics look really big and fuzzy), open Internet Explorer and go to this link:

http://download.cnet.com/Malwarebytes-Anti-Malware/3000-8022_4-10804572.html

4. Download Malwarebytes (a powerful and free virus killer) by Save to your Desktop
5. Double click on the file and install Malwarebytes and just say yes to everything it asks.
6. Once Malwarebytes opens, run "Quick Scan"
7. It will find every virus and sequester it and direct you how to remove them.
8. It's entirely possible that after you reboot, your missing drives will appear.

Next,

Download Ccleaner from this link;

http://download.cnet.com/CCleaner/3000-2144_4-10720990.html

Using the same stadial progression as described above, install Ccleaner and run it using the Cleaner first and the Registry tool second.

If you miss a trick here and there, please contact me at selkiedesigns@strategicnetworks.com because I don't check back for addendums to my posts here. I prefer to use MS Outlook to assist futher as it is more expedient for me.

My Kind Regards,

Selk

Open up your tower and take out the ram. Then put it back in and close the case. Make sure your power cord is disconnected when you do it. Then restart and see if it helps.

My homepage, friends profiles is not opening.Even the 'Help centre', 'Privacy settings' in my Account settings is not opening.Everytime i click on these to open,it shows--400 BAD REQUESTS! why is this...

hi friend,
most probably your internet connection speed is slow,or you sent too many friends requests.first you should reboot your computer then after use mozilla firefox as your default browser.it is more secure than internet explorer.if possible try to get more bandwidth for internet speed.if you are using dial up or mobile internet then sometimes facebook's home, profile, privacy settings, account settings can't open properly.use virus scanning properly.i recommend kaspersky antivirus.and defragmenting your computer once in a week.i hope you will access your facebook properly in future.

Good Luck.
Thanks for using FixYa

A friend gave me a Dell Demention 8200. When I boot it it beeps 5times then 2 another 2 then once. Nothing shows on the monitor. Suggestions?

Hello,

The reason you are getting the beeps is simply because there are some connections that have not been made in the system so when it is powering up it will not be able to come on fully.

Try to open it up and rerun all the connections that you can see. Turn it on first to see how it is faring inside. Then you turn it off and couple it back together.

Then you check the cable that connects the monitor to the System to see if there is any wrong connections made.

After running this check, your system will boot properly without any sound and it will bring up some information to the monitor.

Take care

Have you replaced the Hard drive? If you did you have to reinstall the PC operating system and the CD is included when you purchased the PC. place the CD to your DVD?CD rom drive and just follow the PC instruction and input your information.
