If my understanding is correct, the immobilizer interrupts the power from the ingition system / switch to the rest of the vehicle. In order to disable / remove this you will need to find the model of the device, and any installation information / manuals for your model, then see if there is a way to disable it, or remove it completely from the system.

Without the particulars such as car make / model / year / engine type
or device model number / manufacturer, i cannot make any further assumptions

I cannot seem to find a product installation manual online.

My suggestion is to have the person that re-wired the system, or a qualified technician remove the device completely.

It is possible to remove the device, and replace the wiring harnesses with stock, I'm not sure on a price range here, but it should not be too expensive.

Make and model would help. Most vehicles have the immobiliser as part of the(ECM) computer program.

How to reset the immobiliser

Never reset the immobilizer. Once you reset the immobolizer, it will produce a 96 character seed code, which requires seed code calculator and a long way to put it back to work. Simply go to add key function.

Car has immobiliser fault, want to disable immobiliser, what colour is the wire to immobiliser

If this immobilizer is a factory system, I don't think you can cut the wire and disable it. I think the computer will recognize it's disconnected and activate automatically.

Car won't start , said it was disabled for

THe key has a code in it that is read by the engine immobiliser. BY removing the key and reinserting you are giving the immobiliser a chance to read the code again. Give it a try. THe battery in your key may be getting low and needs replacing.

it may be the immobiliser,,, and then it may be that you need the ignition key code and/or ECU that goes with that particular model

The Immobolizer for my hyundai getz is not working - I changed the batteries, but no difference. Is there a way to override the system?

dear friend-i believe your immobiliser went into sleep mode,as i have no idea if you have a high spec or normal unit,if you have a single button on your remote it is a high spec, this needs to be recoded,if it is two buttons press both buttons together and wait for the bleep, then it should be active.

Hi

I wouldn't have thought the ECUs would be interchangeable due to the immobiliser. Thinking about it, a fault with the immobiliser would cause the lack of spark and noid. I know they usually also disable the starter motor as well, but a fault would change the way it responded.

I think a computer is needed here to live scan the ECU and see exactly what the little blighter is playing at before you go to the expense of an ECU.
