User manual Switch at the rear is set to auto stop and when playing a 45 the turntable stops just before the end of the 45 play. Can this auto stop be adjusted?

The top arm that swings over the spindle will control the automatic return. Leave the unit off. Swing the overhead holding top arm over and manually load a record. Now switch the top arm over the niddle spindle. Make sure that the switch is set for 7", 10" or 12" (45, 78, or 33). Manually place the tonearm at the start of the record and flip switch to 'play' (not reject or auto). It should play the whole record and automatically eject at the end and then shut off. Leave the arm swung over the middle after you loaded the record. Good luck. Let me know if you have any more questions.
Hi, most likely the auto function needs resetting. With the power off turn the platter manually clockwise a dozen or so times. Power up and play. Cheers john.
The service manual shows the adjustment for the tone arm set down position is accessed from the top of the unit. It is in front and to the right of the pivot point of the tone arm. The other problem is something that I can not diagnose here but I am providing a link to the service manual. You will have to set up a free account with vinyle engine. The service manual is a free download.
Just had this occur to me and after a couple seconds figured it out. Tonearm returns once it hits a certain height on the tonearm guide (the bit that goes up and down when you raise or lower the tonearm cue lever.) If you manually hold down the guide, the tonearm will continue to play the 7" until the end. You don't have to push down hard, just a nice gentle [pressure while the record plays should do it. It solved the problem for me.
hey there Jack, I have the exact same turntable and had the exact same problem. It's a pretty simple fix.
The control arm for the stop button, more then likely, got pushed a bit too far back.
Now bare with me, because I don't know the names of the mechanisms, but I'll try to make it sound simple.
First you're going to take off plate and belt, because you're going to be taking off the bottom cover of your turntable. If you don't remove the plate & belt, when you flip over the turntable, it's all going to fall and you could damage your belt.
Next your going to flip over the turntable and remove the screws that are holding on the bottom cover on. I think there are 5 of them.
Now that the cover is off, look at where the play and stop buttons are. Follow the thin metal arms that are connected to them. They should end at a white plastic piece (sorry, I don't know the name of it). Now check if the stop arm is hooked behind it or if it's pressed against the front of it. The stop arm should be RESTING ON THE FRONT of the white plastic piece.
If it's hooked behind the plastic piece, carefully pull it out and then place it against the front of the white plastic piece and you should be good to go.
I LOVED the 40bs, and if you look at the size selector, which is located at an angle to the right side at
the front along with the manual or auto setting in the front. There are 4 settings, 78-10, 45-7, 33-12,
and 33-7 for the speeds and sizes of the recordings.
