Question about Canon FS100 Flash Media Camcorder

Open Question

My canon fs 100 will not power on

I drained the battery of camcord so that i could use it the following day. After the batt was drained, i charged it and actually saw the charge light blinked and left it for two hours. When I came back and saw the light wasn't blinking anymore, I presumed it was fully charged but when I tried to turn it on, it doesn't respond or turn on. The charger is warm, I can't figure out what the problem is. Fully charged the battery so its ready, 3 days later i try to power on and its dead. Insert the power cable again and the led does not blink or powers on. Tried connecting to PC maybe i get a response, nothing again. Removed card, battery and installed one by one and tested for power .... nothing. Taking it to the dealer to check it out by trying a new battery (although its only 9 months old and rarely used).

I took the camera to the representative and we started various tests such as:
Tried My battery in OTHER camera .... not working
Tried OTHER battery in MY camera .... works
Tried charging MY battery in OTHER Camera .... works
Tried MY battery in MY camera and charged .... worked
Bottom end is that my charger is not working although it heats when "charging".

Now i will look at the pins in the charger to see if they are working or not.

Whatever the case .... getting a new charger.

Canon FS-10 camcorder battery

The battery may not be getting power, it is unlikely that many consumer available batteries exhibit behaviors like experiencing damage from complete depletion, try and charge it on another charger like a universal one, borrow a battery and see if you cam and charger charges it, lets make sure its the battery first, and if that is the issue find out why--Good Luck.

IPaq rx3115 working like PC not Pocket PC, need to plugin always

You need to purchase a new removable battery for your RX
The removable batts usually only last about a year (like cell phone batteries).
Although it is showing 100% charge, the battery is not storing enough power to run the ipaq

The rx series uses 2 batteries, one is the removable one u can see/access when u remove the back cover. The other batt is a small round batt which stores the basic info for your system (so you don't lose your data when u swap out the removable battery).

This small (backup) batt is similar to the cmos battery on a laptop or pc.
You cannot easily replace this, as the unit needs to be disassembled to access this batt.
If you are tech-y (and brave), the replacement button batteries are sold on ebay for $9-12

Normally, if your removable batt is bad, you could still use your unit plugged in, and could
remove from AC power without losing data. Not the case if your replaceable batt is exhausted.
When both batteries are bad, you lose everything when u remove unit from AC power.

My workaround without having to disassemble unit:
Purchase and fully charge new removable batt (They have huge capacity ones available for like $15 - better than the original !).
Load up all your programs & settings the way you like.
Perform full backup to SD card (& also on PC via active sync - to be safe)
Now the only time you should lose your data (like hard reset) is if you allow the battery
to completely drain, in which case you can restore your backup.
If you purchase 2 removable batts, you can easily swapout without losing data if you
use the usb charge cable & leave ipaq plugged in while you change battery

Hope this helps

No power coming through charger to camera.

there are four little fuses on the mainboard but you wouldnt be able to repair them they would need to be fixed but there also could be a problem with the lens sometimes on that model that could cause the problem you have described sometimes when i repair a power cam problem it will act up again and the mainboard needs to be replaced its a good camera but a problem like that you should send it in if you still have a warranty or upgrade to a zr 830 or 850

Canon Elura 100 Power Dead

Just an update.
I sent it back to the factory - and they fixed the power unit.
However, they told me that now my Memory card and memory card operations will not work.
They did not charge me for it - they took it under warranty.
Everything else seems to be working.

Battery drain on Canon zr70mc

If you have the idiot proof switch on, it makes everything AUTOMATIC and drains the batteries fast. Open the LCD door and check if the switch is in the wrong position and change it. Go into the menu and set thing s the way you want them. The more Auto stuff you have on, the faster the battery goes. Are you using a light? Even using the LCD uses more power than the viewfinder. Also, batteries do go bad. It's best to run them all the way down and recharge, if you haven't been doing that, short life. I buy my batts on ebay. Instead of one for $150 I get 10 three hour batteries for that.
