In your web browser, go to http://www.acer.com , choose your country and click the BOTOM OK. Select "Service & Support", then "Driver Download" then the choices for your computer. Coose your operating system then pick your drivers to download. Once you've saved them, install them. Then your WiFi should work. I also suggest to download the other drivers and install them for better than Windows drivers. Microsoft drivers in most cases are very minimal and the manufacturers drivers are very complete. MS drivers will just get it running. Acer drivers will make it fly.

I think you just need to install the driver provided by the vendor, it is on the CD
or the recovery disk/CD, everything is there
or you can try searching the driver from the support page according to the brand from internet

If your vista is active it will not let you format the drive to install windows XP you have to shut down the computer , put the XP CD in the cd drive and start FROM THE CD, at this point you will follow the Xp installation Instruction and come to a page where you will have the possibility to format the partition where vista is installed,
Note, you should look for ALL rhe XP driver of you computer model BEFORE you do this sometimes a computer sold wit Windows Vista do not have any XP driver for all the peripheral installed in that computer

Windows xp installation problem

You might need to use the "Floppy" version of the Driver upon install (if you know what the chipsets are. Most likely it's Intel and you can slip stream the driver files into a new XP CD.
However if a partition is formated from Vista and you attempt to install XP over it without formatting it, crash is almost certain - XP and Vista have different versions of NTFS.
If you want both XP and Vista on the same machine, ALWAYS install the older one first! i.e. XP first. And create only 1 partition in XP where you intend to install on.
Then install Vista afterwards with Vista created partition.

Problem with wifi driver for acer aspire 4715z

This is very common problem for the new computers, they can not be retro-fitted to XP for the drivers were not designed for XP, only vista.

I would strongly suggest putting the computer back to Vista, and then the hardware that was installed on that computer will work its best. Since Service Pack 1 has been released for Vista most of Vista's 1st problems have been solved.
