Action Replay code manager won't recognize DS

I have bought an action replay ds v. 1.52. When I tried to connect it to the computer, all the code manager says is, "Waiting for DS." I put the USb cabel in right, but it still isn't working... Any help? Thanks! when i connect the ards to my computer, it won't update and every time i connect it, i get the device connect failed sound.

Go here: http://www.datelcustomerservice.com/product_help/NDS_ARDS_Help.html#WinXP. Scroll down to "Q: My Action Replay is not being recognized by the Code Manager Software, it just says waiting for DS in the left window; what do I do?" click that and read & follow the steps carefully.

My action replay ds leaves the start screen but then just goes white even before it reaches the main menu.i tried blowing on it it and it still does the same thing

Hello dijanilaplac,

There can be many problems with your Action Replay DS. Try taking the Action Replay out of your Nintendo DS Lite Console, and look at the part those goes into the DS. Make sure nothing is bent, or missing. If something is, it might mean you may have to have it repaired, or replaced. Also keep in mind that sometimes Action Replays can be sensetive, so don't move it around while playing, or it may cause your DS to freeze up.

If you just bought this Action Replay recently, it should have been supplied with a CD to insert into your computer. You should install Action Replay onto your computer. When you have been brought to the main Action Replay Code Manager, find your USB and Action Replay plug in. Plug the small end into the top of the Action Replay cartridge, and the USB into the computer. Now a New Hardware wizard should have popped up on your computer.

When prompt, select, "Install from specific location.", then click next. Then select Search from CD-ROM. Sometimes it may sound different, just select the one that says something about searching from a CD-ROM. After this has completed, reset your Action Replay.

If the problem persists, feel free to contact me, for questions, or replies.
Nate,

Action replay doesn't let me add codes in custom code list!!!!!

Your Action Replay DS hardware may require resetting if you are experiencing any of the following problems:

* Code Manager PC software is reporting that Action Replay DS does not contain enough free space when it actually contains no codes.

* Code Manager PC software is reporting the console`s battery is low when it’s actually fully charged.

* Multicolored bars are shown on the screen after you confirm the entry of a game ID when trying to manually enter codes.

* You can use the Code Manager PC software without any problems until the Action Replay DS is connected via USB set to the update mode on the console, at which point Windows shows a run time error.

If you are experiencing any of these problems, please follow the steps below to reset the Action Replay DS hardware. Please beware that resetting the Action Replay DS hardware will not restore a default codelist, and any codes which are stored on the Action Replay DS will be erased.

1. With your console powered off insert the Action Replay DS

2. Hold down buttons A+B

3. Turn your console on

4. With A+B still held down, as soon as you see the Action Replay DS license screen press and hold down buttons START+SELECT so that you now have 4 buttons held down

5. Hold all 4 buttons down for around 10 seconds until the Action Replay DS loads to it`s home screen

6. If Action Replay DS doesn’t hold on the license screen for around 10 seconds when you do this, you may need to turn off and try again

you can reconnect your ds+AR and you can put the codes back on there by clicking and draging one of codes list from codejunkies.com if you have your Action Replay Code Manager installed, which should come on a disc you bought with your AR

Code manager connection

CD is in drive: Plug in the DS and turn it on (going to the update screen on the DS), this -might- prompt you about a new software that has been plugged in and ask you to install the drivers for the "NDSLink" With the CD in the drive, it will find the drivers for the NDSLink

Wire Wiped Clean: It isn't the wire that needs cleaning but it's the pins, if the Pins need cleaning use an alcohol solution (Damp, not soaking). Otherwise pinch the wire and run your fingers across it to straighten the wires within the cord without pulling (pull too hard and you'll rip the wires) Though do note that exposed wires are not a good thing. If you received your cord with exposed wires, return the Action Replay and its accessories promptly and get a new one.

DS is Open: Again, your DS needs to be on in order for the computer to recognize that it's plugged in. It's the Action Replay that the Code Manager on the computer talks to, not the DS. The Action Replay needs an electrical current going through it to tell the computer that it's turned on. DS on = Action Replay on.

Other possibilities that are not explained: Did you happen to drop the Action Replay? Damage from falls is completely possible and ruins the state of the Action Replay, causing it to come lose easily or not work properly. I have needed to replace my Action Replay due to these accidents before.

Where was this Action Replay bought? If you bought it from a exchange store, you might have gotten a DS that was damaged before you got it (It happens), so if it is not too late, return it, and get a new one (Depending on the price difference between new and used in your area, for me it was a $5 difference)

Action replay when i plug in my ds and load code manager it says waiting for ds even though it is plugged in

IF you are running Vista 64, the issue is the driver on the disk is incompatible, thus the pc will never see the ds. However, I have found a workaround. First make sure the DS is on and plugged in and the Action replay Manager is launched. On the DS click on the mouse so it should read updating software. Then, go into device Manager via the Control Panel, there you will see NDS and an exclamation mark. Right click and choose to update the driver or properties. Then choose Browse My computer for driver software... then let me pick from a list... then fo the manufacturer shoose: Standard USB Host Controller and for the Model choose Unknown. It will pick it up instantlly. Voila.. Good Luck! and what a pain!! V
