Question about NetGear WNDR3300 - RangeMax Dual Band Wireless-N Router
Installing wndr 3300 net gear router to hn 9000 hughes modem. Need help with this installation. I cant get on the internet with the router hooked up. Hook the lan line back to computor, works fine.
I went to the Hughes web site to check out the modem. They say it is also a router. I think you will have to disable the router abilities of your WNDR 3300 Net Gear Router.
Get into the Netgear setup by loging on to it.In its WAN setup select Static IP Address and set the Static IP Address to the same as the hughes modem, except for the last number which should be about 50 greater. IE: Hughes 192.168.12.1 and Netgear 192.168.12.55.
In the DHCP setup, disable the DHCP Server
In the Wireless setup, Give your network a name is SSID. You should also set up security to keep others off you internet connection with a WEP key.
I hope this helps.
