Tension is tooooo loose.
slowly tighten

I'm having trouble properly threading my Elna 1010. Could you please help? The bobbin thread keeps bunching up and breaking

bunching of thread under the material is an indication of insufficient tension of the needle thread
increase the needle tension until the threads meet at the center of the materialbeing sewn

The cotton not bunching up in the bobbin case

Install a brand new needle.

Remove all the thread.

Clean the lint and debris from the bobbin area, feed dogs, and under the needleplate. Oil as (if) recommended in the manual--use only fresh, good quality sewing machine oil--and only 1-2 drops each place.

Always RAISE the presser foot when threading! Rethread from the beginning confirming the thread path is correct.

Set the upper tension to the midway point. The tension will probably need some tweaking to get it where it should be for your project. (Tweaking tension is a common & frequent adjustment to make, especially when changing projects using different fabric weights, thread, etc.)

Retest your machine.

If it is still globbing thread under the needleplate, you may need to take it for service.

Thread tangling inside bobbin case catching on another part

1. thread machine correctly.
2. make sure bobbin case in spinning in the case in the correct rotation. If the bobbin is spinning off of the bobbin incorrectly, "bird nesting" is the result.

Try these suggestions

1. Change the needle--use a needle that's for the fabric being sewed

2. Rethread the machine--top --make sure to use every thread guide

3. try a different bobbin--make sure bobbin is inserted correctly into the bobbin case, & make sure the bobbin is turned the correct way in the bobbin case

4. make sure the thread has not come off the thread take up lever

5. Clean under the needle plate & in the bobbin area for lint or threads

6. Also could be a timing problem, and the machine would need to be checked.

The thread is bunching under the fabric even though the stitch looks perfectly find from the top

Change needle-flat side to the back of the machine
Clean under needle plate where feed dogs are for lint
Clean bobbin area for lint or loose threads
Rethread machine top thread make sure to get every thread guide
& make sure bobbin is wound correctly & that it is inserted correctly in the bobbin case or shuttle
Check tension 3 or 4 is usually good

with some machines the thread comes off the thread take up lever

When sowing the thread bunches up in a ball. The inner rotary make noise, how to correct problem?

first change the needle
clean under the needle plate where the feed dogs are for lint
also clean the bobbin area for lint or loose threads
rethread the machine-top thread & bobbin

some time the top thread can come off some thread take up levers--that should be watched when sewing

check to make sure the bobbin is always wound correctly--and incorrect wound bobbin can cause sewing problems

The bobin thread bunches up on the bottom side of garment.

Hello,
Try these solutions.

* Re-thread your machine as it may be threaded incorrectly.

* Raise your feed dogs if your machine has this feature.

* When you start to sew a seam, hold the upper and bobbin thread tails back and out of the way as you sew your first couple of stitches. This will keep them from getting caught in your machine.

I hope this helps.
