Question about GPX MW-3847 MP3 Player
When I plug in my mp3, the computer doesn't recognize that it is there, so it doesn't show up in Windows Media Player so I can sync. It's been working fine for months - this is something new that just started. I CAN'T PUT SONGS ONTO IT
Try resetting it to factory settings.if that doesnt work you have to generate a system file. you can do this by recording your own voice in the player and saving it. this generates the system file and the computer will be able to recognize the player.thanks for using fixya!. please dont forget to rate my solution!

a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

I had the same problem, all you have to do is first turn on the Mp3.Then go to settings. Then go down to USB mode. It will probably say, auto detect. But instead scroll down to MSC. If that doesn't work try MTP.

SOURCE: cannot put songs onto mp3 player
ok when you go on Windows media Player first you need to go to Limewire and put songs on an MP3 playlist and then save it.Next you go to Windows media Player and press copy to CD or device and then you go to file at the top and press add to media library then press add file or playlist then you go to program files and press limewire and theres your playlist that you saved. Then you click and it will come on your items to copy ok

SOURCE: rca lyra won't read memory card
WMA files come in two formats DRM & non-DRM. Change your setting in Windows media player (Options - Copy Music) and re-rip the music CD. You can copy both versions but one will play but not the other.

Make sure you have media player 11
If you can, the best test is to try your player with another PC, to see if you still have the problem. This localises whether the problem is with the PC (most likely the USB) or the player. See the link below (search on "connection problems") for a lot more troubleshooting on this.
Download recovery tool off creative's website.
go to my computer > click on hardware tab >
click on device manager button > in the is next screen on the bottom should have>>universal serial bus controllers
(write these down just in case it cant find them)
right click on them and uninstall
reboot let windows reinstall them
Also told Microsoft hotfix causes this problem try uninstalling the last hotfix
If that doesn't fix it try the USB cable
