I need a 1/2 inch 36 " down rod.

No Home Depot or Lowes is going to carry a 36in long mount for any fan. I know! Most hanging mounts are just 1/2in. NPT, galvy pipe anyway. You can usually make a rod mount out of the 3in. or 6in. mount that usually comes with most fans. Just unbolt the mounting from the short mount and bolt it on to the 36in long 1/2in. galvy. Paint to suit and presto, for about $8 you just created the downrod you need! If you can't make that work, you can always call Aloha fans and order the length you need. If you can't get ahold of Aloha, try Hunter, or Casablanca. I do believe that Casablanca can fix you up. They did our Aloha fan rebuilds when the control modules burned up. We thought it was the switch\controller. it was the module IN the fan itself.
