Question about Hitachi 55VS69 55" Projection HDTV

Error 161-10 I receive error code 161-10 posted across the middle of my screen which also says that I may not be receiving all of my cable features. It instructs me to call my cable provider. Time Warner Cable reviewed this, and the cable was ok. They thought it was a tv problem.

Ok! You wouldn't believe the thing I went through to get a respectable answer to your query! First, I DL'd your models user manual... Nothing! So, I called 1-800-Hitachi! The manual said it was open 24-7! Nothing...(Business hours are from 8am to 5pm est) Then I went to Hit's web site www.hitachi.us.com. Nada! So then I did a world wide search of your error code and I finally got an answer! ...In Japanese! So then I had Google translate it by copy & paste in the Google window. But all it came up with was a eerily complex flow chart of something called "Input Format Hierarchy"! which, as you ALREADY know, is saying you may not be getting everything out of your cable! AARGH!
So then I called a friend at Tele-Vue in Denver, CO., but he, also, was stumped. He speculated though that it may be that your TV is looking for a certain audio channel that your cable isn't providing.
So, here's my best advice to you. Call Hit during bussiness hours and that will get your ball a'rolling!
I really did try my best to get you an answer. Sorry I fell short. Who else would do ALL that for free! LOL! Have a great day, bro!

I can't open my thomson gateway


What's the error message?Have you tried to go to the exact modem page?
1. open internet explorer2. type the numbers 192.168.1.254 on the address bar then press enter3. you will be routed to thomson page settings if you received any message stating error like can not display page then you need to check if the cables are properly connected.4. if still can not connect, go to the start menu icon5. select the run icon or search bar6. type cmd then press enter7. you should received a black screen8. from the black screen type ipconfig then press enter9. you should received the info like IP ADDRESS, SUBNET MASK and DEFAULT GATEWAY.10. copy the default gateway and type it in the address bar of your internet explorer then press enter11. if you have not received these information (ip address, subnet mask and default gateway) on the black screen after typing the ipconfig then check the error "media state disconnected" which means that your pc and your thompson is not communicating, here you need to try different network cable to isolate issues for the problem might be the cable, network cable port at the back of your pc or the network cable port at the back of the thomson.

Description

Errors 30 through 33 all indicate the loss of communications or erratic communications between

the microprocessors in the upper PCA and the lower PCA. The trouble shooting procedures for

all of the are essentially the same. Error 30 is defined as upper PCA not receiving from lower

PCA. Error 31 is defined as faulty data received from lower PCA. Error 32 is defined as lower

PCA not receiving from upper PCA. Error 33 is defined as faulty data received from upper PCA

Possible Causes

1. An upper PCA to lower PCA interconnect cable is bad.

2. The interconnect cable at the upper PCA was mistakenly plugged into the CSAFE connector.

3. A 5.17 EFX equipped with version 1.01 upper and lower software.

4. A 5.17 with mismatched upper and lower software.

5. A defective lower PCA.

6. A defective upper PCA.

Possible Remedies

1. Substitute a know good interconnect cable between the upper and lower PCAs to determine

if the interconnect cable is defective.

2. Remove the interconnect cable from the CSAFE connector and insert it in the correct upper

PCA connector.

3. Replace the 5.17 upper and lower software with the most current software versions.

4. If only one of the upper or lower software is version 1.01, replace the version 1.01 software

with the most current version of software.

5. Substitute a known good lower PCA to determine if the lower PCA is defective.
6. Substitute a known good upper PCA determine if the upper PCAs defective.

Usually withthe black screen with banner issue the best trouble shooting step to perform isa hard reset by unplugging the receiver for ten seconds from the wall outlet.If you have already tried a HR the next step would be to check your softwareversion and smart card revision number. You can do this by pressing menu6(system setup) - 1(installation) - 3(system info) once you are in the systeminfo screen you will see Software, your software number should be L4.85. Inorder to get the Smart Card revision number you will need to press the number 3on your keypad now that you are already in the system info screen. Once you arein the system info three screen you will see DNASP at the top of the screen,the number that should be listed is 241 DshH03 or DshH05. If either option isnot up to date you will need to update them by running another check switchtest then powering the receiver off for 30 minutes to allow the receiver todownload the software. For a 004 error message the best trouble shooting stepsto try are the hard reset and also a check switch test. The 004 error messageusually indicates a switch issue but there can also be something else causingthe issue and you may need to have a tech go out to your home. In the case thatyou do need a tech the cost with out the Service Plan should be $95 if you wereto add the Service Plan for $6 a month you would not pay anything for the Techvisit. You're stove must be perfectly fine, but the thing displaying all those options may have a problem. Try to get this fixed as soon as possible.
