1 Answer

Even after setting up my fonts with CSS, when I check the home page I'm designing with either the Firefox or Safari browsers, all my fonts come out as Times, even when some of them are Arial. Am I not

Even after setting up CSS when I check the home page I'm designing in Quark, with both the Firefox and Safari browsers, all of my fonts change to Times Roman, even though some of them are Arial. This happens even when I publish the page. I'm on a Mac G5 with the 10.5.6 OS. Thanks,Scott

Why are my fonts so tiny on Facebook?

You may find that the default font size for your Facebook home page is too small.
There is not a way to adjust the font size of your home page through Facebook, but you can use the zoom function on your Internet browser.
This process only takes a simple keyboard shortcut and is compatible with several Internet browsers, including Firefox, Safari and Internet Explorer.

Open facebook.com.
Enter your Facebook log-in information and click the "Login" button.
Hold down the Ctrl key and press the "+" key. Press the "+" key several times, until your Facebook home page font is at a size that is to your liking.

To modify this address, simply erase the contents of the edit field and replace it with the desired web address.
4. Directly below this edit field you will see a button labeled Set to Current Page. Clicking this button will change your home page setting to whatever page you are currently viewing within the Safari browser.
5. Once you have completed your changes, close the Safari Preferences dialog by clicking the red circle/x located in the top left hand corner of the box.

Tagged.com problem

This all depends on the web browser you are using, because by the looks of your iMac 20", the specifications for your computer are solid enough to support a simple page like tagged.com.

If you are having issues with the graphics and CSS Styles loading on tagged.com, you may want to check your internet settings to make sure you are not experiencing a delay in speed and performance, as that can always be a hindrance On my Intel iMac which is not as powerful as yours, I was able to jump right on tagged.com with no delay in the page loading graphics and CSS.

So you may need to contact your ISP if you are experiencing this with websites other than tagged.com, not loading well either.

Also, I am not sure what web browser you are using, but if it is Safari, or Firefox, you may want to empty the respective browser's caches and reset the browser and try again.

Finally, if you are open minded and don't mind experimenting, you can download and try Mozilla's Camino web browser designed just for Mac users. See how it works with tagged.com

Download Camino 2.0.1

Hope this helps you with your question!

Font misbehavior

Melissa, try saving your Microsoft Word document as a standard ASCII text only document (File > Save As), then use that new non-Word document to copy and paste. This avoids all the strange text formatting and problem codes from Word. Format your text in Dreamweaver and perhaps try using Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) for formatting your pages.
Best of luck!
