New to the gas trimmer and don't have user manual, straight gas or mix? I'm sure it's mix but if so, don't know the ratio. All the guys are fishing in Alaska and my acreage is up to my waist. Would appreciate info and any sage advise, besides the obvious safety lessons, LOL tyvm. Fishaholic59
sirwriter: Thank you ever so much. Yes the grass is that tall and will use your advise on the 2 pass. Sounds the more logical. Thanks again. Here I go! LOLsirwriter: Thank you ever so much. Use a good oil for two cycles, and a 50:1 mixture will work fine. If the grass really is that high, you may consider two passes. Coming from the top down with the engine reved high is better for really tall weeds rather than a sweeping motion at the botton which you'd normally do.

hello sir, the gas / oil ratio is, 3/4 o/z per quart or 2.6 o/z per gallon of two cycle oil, any two cycle oil will do,this is how i mix mine and never had a problem,it is a good mix.hope this helps, don't forget the 4 thumbs up,any comments welcome, thank you. ~~
Older units use a 40:1 mix while very new units use a 50:1 mix. I don''t know the age or model you have. Using 40:1 will NOT hurt a 50:1 machine. Here is a mix chart. Just 1/2 the stated ratios for a 1/2 gallon premix. 40:1 is 3.2 ounces/gallon of gas. Use half of that to make a half-gallon.
Don't know that exact trimmer, but I always run 40:1 in all my trimmers, chainsaws, etc. That is 3.2 oz. of 2 cycle oil to one gallon of gasoline. I rebuild these machines daily and run that mix in everyting, except when it's actually specified on the machine.
This engine does NOT used mixed gas at all! It uses straight unleaded gas. If your using mixed fuel of any mixture ratio in the engine it is really going to smoke badly. What fuel are you using please?

4 cycle engines do not run on mixed fuel. Run on straight fuel. They have a spot to put oil in just like a lawn mover, and should be changed regularly. @ stroke engines run on mixed fuel.
