Have checked that the battery is charged and we using it correctly, ie inserted correctly both in charger and in camera. Have used the camera successfully anumber of times and recharged and re-used etc. However overnight it suddenly wouldnt turn on after we charged the battery. Is it possible to lock the camera perhaps? has anyone had this problem? Same issue. I can get the menus to come up if I hold the button and the lens cover is open. Battery is fully charged. I even bought a new one.

SOURCE: cannot print pictures with dates
By default Olympus cameras do not print the date on the images when they are downloaded to a PC. Olympus does not include this functionality because they feel that it detracts from image quality. There is a function of the camera called print order that you can set that it will print the date on the images but this is only if you take the card to a photo processing store. However if you use the Olympus Master software and print the images that you have previously transferred there is a check box in the print setting window that you can add the date and or time to the printed image.

Your problem may be due to weak/worn out batteries or corrosion on the battery contacts inside the camera which can prevent the full power of the batteries from flowing into the camera. Try this free fix before you do anything else: remove the batteries and wipe the camera contacts firmly with a dry cloth (heavy corrosion may require cleaning with a wire brush, steel wool, or sandpaper). Remove any residue that may have fallen into the battery compartment during cleaning, then wipe both ends of the batteries and place them back in the camera. This cleaning clears the problem about 90% of the time. If it doesn't work for you, chances are that your batteries need to be replaced because they're just too worn to properly power the camera. And then, of course, there's the possibility that your camera may have a problem that requires professional repair.
