I have reinstalled an old D-Link DI 624 system on my PC. The router apparently has an old password and network name (that I don't remember) so I cant enter the network with my new lap top (which is the reason I dusted the old router in the first place) Don't have any of the manuals/cd's etc...
Please help! I'm pretty IT inexperienced! I have a D-Link 624 Wireless 108G Router. I have my home laptop, my business laptop, my PS3 and my Wii all connected with this router. I have an Iphone& a mobile laptop that i am trying to create a VPN or remote desktop connection with my business laptop at home while im on the road. The problem is i forgot my username and password for my router to be able to set my connection. I have the install disk but i am concerned that by reseting my router i will lose my connection with all my other hardware. Please advise if this is an issue with reseting router. How to go about reseting router if needed? and any help you can give me on setting up my VPN or remote connection would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you

If you've forgotten the username and password, there is really no viable solution other than resetting the router. All the software can be found on linksys' website, along with manuals for reconfiguring your router. Breakout your trusty paperclip and press the reset button on the back of the router. Reconfiguring should only take a few minutes. The default username will be "admin" and the default password is "password" (both without the quotes.)

This is a home network. The DI-624 will disconnect users at multiple times during the evening hours, not as much during the daytime.
