pull the spark plug and clean it off with spray carb cleaner.
pull the motor thru with the plug out...
    Reinstall the plug,

if the unit has a primer bulb, be sure to clean the fuel out of that as well.
Clean the air cleaner element... a dirty air cleaner will cause the engine to **** too much fuel as well.

Let me know if these help your start..

As Smart suggested, and add in:

Checking your muffler exhaust port screen. They give TONS of trouble on a 2-Stroke.

(Simple: Pull your muffler, you should see the screen in the muffler. They usually get fouled BADLY over time, and provide such high back pressure, she won't start/run. In some, you pull the muffler, and then pull the screen from insided the muffler, held in place. That's part of the fun of 2-stroke work, you never know!)

Won stay running

Check carburetor & air filter. Clean off all dirt and clean air filter. check age of gas. Cannot be more than 30 days old. Make sure to use fresh gas w/synthetic 2-cycle oil @ 40:1 ratio (1 gal.) Gas to 3.2 oz. Oil). Do not use old or stale oil/gas mixture. Before putting in fresh fuel, press the primer several times. A small amount of gas might show up in the fuel tank. Remove fuel. With carburetor cleaner, spray carburetor. Put in small amount of fresh fuel. Just enough to cover the fuel filter. Then press primer with fuel cap off, and watch to see if fuel is flowing smoothly. If not or if plastic primer bubble does not come back to original shape after pressing, then you have to take carburetor apart and clean or get new carburetor.

It won't start.

Give the machine a proper service and clean out the carbs. Petrol goes off and a part of it evaporates leaving a nasty sludge behind. This will cause bits to block the jets. It is also worth emptying the fuel tank and flushing it out with a little bit of fresh fuel. Then refill with fresh fuel.

I can not get my craftsman leaf blower to start. I put a new spark plug and fresh gas. Won't start.

Not to sure without seeing or hearing it being pulled over. Compression? Very likely needs some carb work/kit.

My echo packpack blower won't start

How long has it been since its been started? If its been a while go to Home Depot and get some fuel stabilizer follow the instructions - if it hasn't been to long go to home depot and get a new spark plug and replace the old one as well as clean the filter -make sure to put fresh oil/gas ratio in the tank - use stabilizer if needed

Primer bulb on Yardboss blower will not **** fuel from tank. Blower will run if primed manually.

remove your carb and clean it and replace diaphram's and needle , they tend to swell up from ethanol that is used in the gas now a days, and the diaphrams turn stiff and won't pump fuel. then put fresh gas in when you are done and also replace fuel lines and filter too., probably primer to because once it is hit with carb clean it just crumbles, good luck

Wont start

Start with emptying the gas tank totally. Refill with fresh gas/oil mix. Todays gasoline ain't that great.
Also after putting in fresh gas and priming if it doesn't fire at all pull the spark plug and if it is dry, pour a about a tbsp. of mix gas in the plug hole. put the spark plug back in and see if it will fire.
