Question about Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ5 Digital Camera
Recently my FZ5 has begun to ignore all inputs from buttons. When I turn it on, I am able to operate in whatever mode it is in once. So I can take 1 picture, or one video. So I guess you could say I am able to hit the "take a picture" button once.
Once I take the picture or video, I must turn the camera off and back on again to take another picture or video.
I disassembled the camera, removed the tiny battery that keeps the settings, and waited over night. I reassembled the camera and it still only allows me to take one picture. Now it also says I need to set the clock.
Possibly the shutter release (the "take a picture button") or the mechanism under it is getting stuck down and not coming back up to let you take a second shot.
Try cleaning under there with a can of compressed air. Be careful because the release button is super fragile - looks big but only held on underneath by a tiny stalk about the size of a pin (I know because mine broke off when the camera dropped). Panasonics are light but fragile, others, like Sony, heavier but much more solid.
