Dell poweredge t105 freezes at boot

Dell PowerEdge T105 boots so far but freezes with lights 2 and 3 lit denoting a disk problem. it has 2 disks in raid 1 configuration. cant access setup via f2 or utilities f10 unless the raid card is moved between slots! under this circumstance i can access the sas 6 utiity, and had to synchronise the secondary disk. Both disks are reportedly good. However, on reboot it always pauses at the same place.

You will have to get into the controlled setup in order to find out what the problem is, or you can simply hit ctrl-D and do the Dell disk diagnostics which will take an hour or more, but will give you an idea of where to start.

Logically, if it won't boot, then your RAID is probably broken. it can sometimes be repaired through either the RAID or controller setup menu, which you can see during boot.

go here, for the manuals and documentation on how to do that: http://www.dell.com/support/home/us/en/19/product-support/product/poweredge-t105/manuals

SOURCE: DELL Poweredge 2600 Bios FREEZES After Cpu check and before SCSI Drives check HELP!!!!

The BIOS check can freeze for many reasons.

Can you tell me if this is an existing system that was working fine and then had this problem, or is this a new (or new to you) system?

Can you give more information on what is actually showing on the screen?

Did you experience a power event? Go to BIOS (F2), and make sure that RAID is Enabled. If RAID got turned off (power event, BIOS reset), then it will give you that message. If RAID is already enabled, then you may need to repair your operating system. If something else happened (drive failures, drives removed, etc.), then the array may be completely gone. Call Data Recovery services if it is critical you retreive the data.

Poweredge 1950 won't start

this is common, if your place was cold its possible that something has died when turning on again, you could try and pull out ram in an order to see if one has failed, get the memtest download and make a boot disk to test the ram has not become faulty, test each stick alone, Hiren boot disk has all the good stuff for testing, its a free tecky tool for engineers.

URGENT. Dell Poweredge 2850 Mirror 1 Now it is not booting. How to make it boot from Mirrored disk Thanks for any assistance

If you know the two drive that are the OS mirrored drive, remove the failed drive and replace it with the good mirror drive and boot the system. If the drive and the OS is good the system will boot from that drive. You can now mirror this drive with a good disk.

XP cannot find disk

If you are installing this on a PowerEdge 2600, you will have difficulty installing XP, as this is a server and drivers will be scarce, not the least of which will be the RAID controller (PERC 4/Di). If you had it, you would need to load the driver at the F6 prompt just after booting to the Windows disk.
